Listened to a couple Youngboy and Lil Baby songs
I can see the appeal, it wouldn't be something I personally would listen to though

[see video]
This one wasn't bad at all though

We def had some BS being put out when I was coming up (Crunk/Snap era), throughout hip hops history I feel like, only difference is music now is more accessible due to social media and streaming platform and a lot of the BS that came out during the 80s, 90s, 00s either gets forgotten about, or glossed over.

But you can listen to alot of newer artists and tell it's a byproduct of '08+ Wayne, Gucci, and Future, from the Young Thugs all the way to the NBA Youngboys.
T-Pain as well if you really wanna go there since he's the one that brought autotune back

But maybe this is how our grandparents felt when the tides began to shift from R&B/Soul to Hip Hop

I’ve accepted I can’t listen to none of the drill rappers or the NBA Youngboy types. I’m checking for any younger rappers under 30 that make music I would enjoy but it’s hard.
I came to the same conclusion- I cant rock with no Lil Suzie Squirt and Moneybag h0e all these-NBA..all that sh1t is utter trash

There are a handful of young dudes I rock with...this one cat from the Bay..Symba..that n1gga is nice....he can rap circles around these half a homo drill "rappers"

Hilarious.

Every artist has singles not even they most avid supporters enjoy.

Y’all just extremely jealous hatin bitter goofys doin the most over one single artist that’s sh1tttin on any and all y’all swear by.

Im not talking about no singles my man… like wether nba puts out a single for radio, a freestyle, or a fu#king street record I don’t care he is trash to me and is a punch in rapper, and that’s what I mean I don’t enjoy a lot of new rappers actual raps, I don’t like how they put sh1t together it’s sloppy and half assed, I enjoyed hip hop when u had to come wit it and originality and unique sh1t was comming from all parts east coast west coast down south it didn’t matter people actually took time to create and make something dope that’s going to stand the test of time

I think the biggest difference is what’s considered mainstream today sucks. The 90’s and 00’s and even some of the 10’s you’d get some mainstream bangers….

90% of the things being pushed to the to the top of playlists today are trash. Some good music still comes out but you’re gonna have to look for it yourself and follow artists you like.

It feels like the creativity has fallen off but sometimes hip-hop goes through some slumps, I hope the next wave is better than this. I barely listen to hip-hop at the moment

Man honestly I definitely can't keep up with the newer younger rappers. I'm 30 I really can't relate with anyone under 26ish... Plenty of rappers don't pop until they are older now... Looking at the Griselda guys and Larry June's of the game... You won't find me bumping no NevabrokeAgain in my whip that's off top

We are supposed to be outta touch with current music… the shts been that way for generations…old heads always hated the newer stuff.. I can listen to a lot of new sht and enjoy it.. you just can’t go into it expecting it to be like what you first started to listen to… I hate young thug at first.. then.. after a giving it some kite chances.. the shts hella harmonic.
Some of the sht is also drug induced.. as is a ton of the greatest music ever made. Listen with your ears and not your head. But w everything is supposed to have a message or mean anything.
