can you give me an example of what was censored in the 90s to 2010s
and when has anything derogatory about a person been censored by a record company?
in the 90s when we had rap that actually mattered they would call out "Bill clinton" and "Bush" by name say all types of derogatory sh1t about them ...
It’s not the new label deal.
The new label deal is just a short commitment. 1ep and an album. Or one album or 1 ep… but the label owns everything.
The artists mentioned own their masters … not their back catalogue.
Everything they created after their record contract was fulfilled.
For Kendrick that started in 2022

[see photo]OVODocket Opinion: Why is UMG Recordings hesitant to provide Drake’s legal team with the unredacted version of Kendrick Lamar’s recording contract? Two things.
1. We believe it’s because Interscope Records was irresponsible enough to place certain stipulations in Kendrick Lamar’s contract that not only incentivized him to engage in the rap battle with Drake but would also reward him following the rap battle.
2. We believe Kendrick Lamar’s contract contains language that proves Drake’s legal team’s allegation that UMG has the authority to alter/edit/remove Kendrick Lamar’s music and related works. Thereby, UMG was fully capable of stopping the defamatory statements in “Not Like Us” from being published and promoted, which they failed to do.
Per legal filings, an additional contract agreement between Interscope Records and Kendrick Lamar was executed on April 27 2024.
So this Midget mf made sure that the label would help him before he dropped those diss tracks wanting certain guarantees... And you mfs call Drake a bi#ch
This mf a whole fraud... But it doesn't matter coz Drake is a light skin Canadian
What makes you think Kendrick fulfilled his 1st deal? There is not a chance in hell he was only signed for 4 albums, for him to have fulfilled means that they let gay Aunt count twice + they counted the Black Panther soundtrack. Extremely unlikely11
Also what artist takes a 4 year vacation when they're on the cusp of completing their deal?
It don't add up.
Because they don’t want people to see Kendrick is making a killing compared to his peers
Because then his peers will want the same kinda deal
I promise you’re thinking about this too hard.
Kendrick signed his deal (which was most likely a 360) TDE in 2005 … 4 albums was standard.
TDE has distribution deal with aftermath / interscope …
Distribution deals are time based… no album quotas .
Labels usually try to renegotiate before the last album… but we have every reason to believe that Dot and TDE are like family … so they both did right by each other.
Now Kendrick has PgLang with distribution through interscope
And there rumors he has a minority stake in TDE …
It’s.not.that.deep.
It’s just good business
bruh, stop logging into multiple accounts on a dead internet rap forum. sh1t is creepy and weird, noone cares anymore go get some help. n1gga got multiple accounts talking to himself hoping others join in. n1gga we off that sh1t
Kendrick to me represents the appropriation of political movements by capitalism. His music’s marketed with the idea that you are making a political statement by listening to it, when in reality it does nothing to change the status quo, you’re just buying a product owned by the jews. He stands for nothing

4 albums was definitely never the standard. Just look at anyone signed at that time to Interscope or any major
Both UMG and Drake's legal team promised to keep that information out of the public eye... They're not interested in how much money he got... They want to see what the company policies are aka does one artist have the right to defame another artist on their label and if the label could've prevented him from doing that... They're not interested in Midget's money... Before this beef he wasn't even a bigger artist than Travis or Future...

Wtf
Lots of FBA are Trump supporters. I guess you a tether.
HE WAS NOT SIGNED TO A MAJOR!!
That aside .
50 cent - 5 album deal
Lupe - 6 albums
Big Sean - 5
J Cole - was a multi album deal with multiple options.
Most deals lasted 5 or 6 albums because the label picked up the option.
And now that I really think about it … Dot released six albums …
Section 80 and untitled/unmastered counted.
No matter how you slice it … he fulfilled his obligation… went independent and used Drake to get the bag of all bags
Wtf is wrong with the op?
