You peasants need to stop Wayne is one of the greatest rappers and he is the greatest rapper ever!!!!! Wayne had the best run ever n1gga mixtapes were real audio Crack I know I'm a recovering Waynehead Wayne was wrecking sh1t from 06 till he went to jail(no ceilings) Your judging his old music compared to now, of course, it might be not sound as good because his style has changed so many times. no rapper runs as well as him no one.

How old were you during that era ?

His fanbase were mostly high school and college kids that thought a bunch of random punchlines was “lyrical”

And he never evolved from that style and is now in his 40s still rapping about imaginary guns and random bullsh1t
How would my age differ from when any other era from when a rapper was at their peak?

Again, I was well aware of level of content Wayne was releasing at the time and had plenty of discussions amongst peers during & all the way up until the present about how great he was.

So my original point would remain that it’s okay to say you weren’t a fan of his during that time, but you’re still not going to be able change the narrative of what I witnessed and experienced.

Features still booming

When is the last time Jay or Nas had a “hit” record to your standards?!?

Legends don’t need hits to be relevant

Your age proves my point thats why you disregarded the question

Wayne had a chokehold on kids thats why this generation is a bunch of rappers that look like him

My favorite feature probably because he had a subject in mind and rapped to it. Too many of his features during that time was just random sh1t that rhymed
And I loved every bit of his random punchlines. His run needs to be talked about in college classrooms. 08-‘11 this man could do absolutely no wrong.

I thought the Carter 3 leak was the last time Wayne was really in prime form. After that some of his verses and guest appearances started to be "hit or miss" at least in my opinion. I think Wayne started to sound different around that time, the stuff he was sippin started to catch up with him towards the late 2000s

No it doesn’t. And my point would be that if that’s a valid point then the logic could be applied to any rapper for someone to try and make the case said rapper wasn’t great.

Sooooo, using that logic how can we make the case any rapper was as great as someone remembered

Nobody said wayne wasn’t great

His features and verses were overrated because he wasn’t saying nothing

Lyrically he was never “the best rapper alive”

“Best” can be subjective but he was definitely the hottest and he had the approval from your favorite rappers. Once again, you have a right to your opinion, but that still won’t change what we witnessed and experienced.

I’m a put 98 dmx slightly behind Wayne

I got

1.96 pac
2. ‘03 50
3. 08 Wayne
4. 98 dmx
5 09 drake

*Honorable mention 05 jeezy (cnt ban sno man t shirts everywhere

Pac wasn’t dropping as much music as Wayne. And hd wasn’t the guy to get on a track for a hit

50 had the story but he wasn’t everywhere as Wayne. 50 even called him a rap wh0re for doing songs with everyone for $$$.

That shows that Wayne was everywhere. Almost every song that dropped had Wayne on it. Was on every song on the top 10

No run from anyone was like that. Then he signs Drake and Nicki….
