The Los Angeles Lakers won in 2000 because of Coach Phil Jackson and Apex prime predator Shaquille O'Neal.

Kobe Bryant was Shaq's sidekick on the Lakers.
In the 4th quarters of the '09 and '10 NBA Finals:
Kobe shoots: 22-74 (29.7%)
Gasol shoots: 20-34 (58.8%)

His team won in spite of him, not because of him.
08 Finals: Blew 24 Point Lead in Game 4 and got blown out by 39 Points in Game 7
Kobe Bryant
- Never led the league in Win Shares
- His best season ranked by win shares puts him as the 115th best regular season by any player ever (NBA/ABA)
- Never finished inside the top 2 any given season based on PER
Shaquille O'Neal averaged 26.6 points on 63.1 from the field, 10.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 5 games in the 2004 NBA Finals.
Kobe Bryant averaged 22.6 points on 38.1 from the field, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 5 games in the 2004 NBA Finals
38.1 from the field
17.4 from the three point line
+/- (-10.4)
The Lakers lost the 2004 NBA Finals because Kobe wanted to win the NBA Finals MVP and he would rather lose than to see his teammate Shaquille O'Neal win his fourth NBA Finals MVP.
That's the reality.
During the play-offs in their 2 championship runs ('09-10):
Pau Gasol: 8.5 Win Shares, .222 WS/48
Kobe Bryant: 8.3 Win Shares, .214 WS/48

2011 NBA playoffs
Mavericks 4 Lakers 0 Kobe got swept with home court advantage and favored to win the series.
Facts don't care about your feelings!
Those PER and win share stats aren't reliable. We all know if Karl Malone doesn't get hurt the Lakers win in 04. As for those 3 titles in a row Shaq has said he waited until the Finals those years to really be dominant and if you watch the games you see that. It's easy for us to grab the numbers and twist them for narratives but the Lakers don't have any of those titles without Kobe. He was out there dominating sh1t throught the West but they didn't need him to dominate the NBA Finals. sh1t, they were so much better than their opponents Shaq could have mailed it in and they still would have won. But go check Kobe vs Sacramento, Portland, San Antonio and others leading up to the Finals. n1gga was ballin.
As Spurs fans we were out there talking about if Derek Anderson was healthy we win. Kobe said fu#k him and yall thoughts
