When this popped up a month or two ago, elderly and disabled were exempt from this. Ppl seem to be ignoring that part.
Time? If you're a whole generation behind that's your fault. You've had plenty of "time" to get your sh1t together. Furthermore, how the fu#k are you gonna be on section 8 and not take advantage of the numerous resources available like grants for education? It's not like they were paying any meaningful rent so they should have been hitting the books especially since most people's biggest expense is rent which means they had more time to study since they didn't need to use that time to work to pay for rent. But since you wanna go there, descendants of slaves have had over 150 years to get their sh1t together. People fresh out of slavery had little to no education, no money, no resources and yet they had entire towns full of prosperity. The government came through in the 60s and started handing out free sh1t and now everybody wants to talk about how they need time to adjust. fu#k that.
Section 8 ruined neighborhoods and apartment complexes
I remember I moved to a complex back in the 90s. It was only a few years old at that point. They let in the Section 8'ers and 10 years later it was unrecognizable. It was like Alternate Reality 1985 from Back to the Future.
I don’t subscribe to the concept having to prove your worth to society through productivity.
While able bodied folks should def provide the necessary means of production and consumption to keep society moving forward, there are others, for whatever reason are incapable.
If we as a society are fine with the existence of some to hoard an excess of wealth, we should provide an equal measure of empathy towards those with very little.
Gonna cause more homelessness, stupid idea and the same people cheering this on gonna be the same folks that complain about too many homeless
Plus the government robs us daily so let some people reciprocate that sh1t back
Going to be honest with you guys, I live in northern VA/DC area and it frustrates the hell out of me that I pay $2700/month on a 1 bedroom and I see a few of my neighbors who clearly 100% use housing vouchers and live in the same building as me and provided the same luxury. They stick out like a sore thumb
Many people picture that every person who is provided housing assistance is stuck in the slums or in the hood. This is not always true.
People root against their own interest. Some people do take advantage of it. But it allows some to have housing income not otherwise afford it.
Will probably come down to the state. Which means some states will lose lots of consumers to states who are willing to provide the benefit.
Why should they get to live in housing that others have to pay for? They can live in a trailer in the middle of nowhere like all the other poor people. They shouldn’t feel entitled to living in prime real estate. Also they’re limiting it to 2 years, which should be more than enough time to get back on your feet
And making homelessness illegal

The funny part about what Trump is doing.. is that middle class and low class whites think that this is against Blacks, DEI, the woke community, etc., but it’s actually against them as well.
30% of the population vs 13%. It will effectively dismantle the low class population as a whole, not just the colored section.
They walk away smiling and cheering without being intelligent enough to see what’s really going on.
And I’m in Alabama, all I can do is shake my head at them.

Because it’s their fu#king money and if they choose to spend it on a yacht that is their fu#king choice. Who the fu#k are you to tell someone how to spend their money?
If you choose to spend your money on others, that’s cool - but you have no right telling someone else how to spend their income
Live in Baltimore county same thing. Neighbors on section 8 and bought a hot tub. Every day I come home from work she’s sitting in it drinking a glass of Prosecco and smoking a blunt. Frustrating.
