As an old head; time will tell if it’s good music or not. One thing I hate about posts like this is the pitting of old vs young. One of you brothers said that music is subjective like all art. But I will say that we currently live in a world where you can hear any type of music at anytime from all over the world. And much of the rap music these days don’t give me that feeling. I’m not saying it’s wack it just don’t move me. And that’s cool.

Thank you for attending my TEDTalk.

n1ggas slapping my post cuz ODB is a Wu Tang legend but yall know I'm right

People who were older when that shimmy song came out more than likely felt the same way the OP feel about young boy's sound

Where the fu#k is the lie?

Same sh1t different era. MFs used to call hip-hop "noise"

I’ve accepted I can’t listen to none of the drill rappers or the NBA Youngboy types. I’m checking for any younger rappers under 30 that make music I would enjoy but it’s hard.

Why TF y'all can't ever do your own work when it comes to music?

I always see these type of comments on here. When did music listeners get so damn lazy?

Hip-hop fans used to do the work when it came to having good music in rotation. Making homemade mixtapes, buying source magazines just for the unsigned hype spotlights and the album ratings so u can check their sh1t out

Now all I see is "post 10 links bro"

So, I can appreciate good music from before I was born, but I can't appreciate good music from people younger than me?

I actually like some music from this era, but overall this entire era is trash.

The generation after this will be even more trash.

Never heard that o-line or off-line.

Everyone needs haters. It’s just damn this sh1t is legendary all around. Plus the obstacles.

And those jealous envious hatin bitter stay turning up the volume.

That drake sh1t made more “sense” since he was forced fed to the masses using your mainstream definition plus some.

This has its roots is what hip-hop is suppose to be and old goofy “hip/hop pursuits” are the loudest with the negative on this old folks site

What's your main problem?

Finding out these “relevant” current rappers y’all swear by. Either they older than dog sh1t stuck on the 1980/1990 NYC beats and or they gettin SLAUGHTERED in a versus.
It depends on what you into...What type artist are you into specific?....How old are you?

Ehh all of his music isn't terrible but I don't mess with it just like I don't mess with sesame street songs. sh1t is for kids. They'll grow out of it. Same way I can't listen to some of the stuff I used to in my 20s. It sounds like alot of repressed homosexuality was going on in them early west coast albums.

We were just spoiled with such great rappers that actually dropped sh1t with substance and that told stories that people actually related to. To me, this isn't remotely even decent rap. To the young kids that didn't have what we had, they hear an uptempo beat with someone mumbling some random sh1t that they think sounds cool or that is being blasted all over the latest social media craze and the song is considered fire. To each generation their own. Remember, the older generations before us said the same about their music versus our rap and R&B.

Commercial rap is dead bottom line there is no substance left.

At this point just find the niche in the genre or whatever you enjoy and listen to that.
