It's the illegal immigrants who are committing violent crimes are the "real problem". They make it bad for the legal and illegal immigrant community. Gang members and cartel members prey on folks of their own country more than US citizens.
Regular degular Americans (left wing and right wing) could care less about the illegal and legal immigrants working landscaping, farming, housekeeping, hotel, meat packing and construction jobs. They are minding their own bidness on an everyday basis.
