I honestly don�t know his reasoning for it, but he dropped like 4 or 5 projects that did so well, spawned so many memorable songs like you said that did crossover and he just checked out around 2011/2012. He did go to jail around that time in his prime. But I think he just sat on his first 7 albums as being his �legacy� as the King of the South.

He hasn�t had a real hit or been on a hit since Blurred Lines. Massive song but the denouncement of the song came so fast with lawsuits and think pieces on it that I�d be shocked if it�s in any casual �hits� playlist. They made it the anthem of the �Me Too� movement.
