Scottie is a great young player, but he never really had the team around him to maximize his game. I don't know if the team s even trying to but I'll members we'll see after this off season and how BI fits in.

RJ would be a solid piece for a lot of teams but idk if a team is a above average/ under all star 2/3 guard away from competing.

He'd fit on the warriors, while not a dependable shooter he can get his own basket and draw fouls consistent. A definite upgrade over JK

The reason why people think he’s “trash” is because he doesn’t pass the eye test.

This is about to be a “dumb smart” explanation.

He’s been a featured player his whole career but it’s a ceiling on his production & impact. In his 7 years they have never been able to give him a bigger responsibility for the team because you don’t see the kind of results with his production and team success to say “it’s your team RJ”. So when people see a guy like him struggle to maximize on his opportunities they think that talent wise he’s a lesser player than a 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd option and doesn’t deserve the priority he gets. Something similar has also played out with Wiggins.

this is unlikely about skill than it is about fit. the truth is, he's our most tradable asset from a skills and contract perspective. when you have guys like zach lavine making close to twice as much as RJ, i mean...

i can't say i was much of a fan of his when he was traded to the raps but watching him over the past season really changed my mind. He has very underrated play making ability, a decent three point shot that will keep improving i think and he plays hard anytime he's on the court.

it's hard to judge him from his time in New York based on his fit. he's a left handed player that operated on the side that was occupied by 2 other ball dominant lefties - randle and brunson. he had so much more space to work in toronto.
