People refer to harlem as uptown. It's the upper part of New york/manhattan. The heights too, to a brooklynite harlem would be uptown. Technically anything north of upper east/west side would be "uptown"

Im from here. I didnt know where dude I quoted is from, so I expanded.

But Uptown means more than that..

To a Bronx man, uptown could be north east bronx with the jamaicans..

To a Brooklyn/Queens dude, uptown is Bronx and Upper Manhattan...

To somebody from Harlem talking to somebody else from Harlem, Uptown is the 130s-150s blocks of Harlem.. Just like Downtown is the lower 100-110s area.
