I think out of all the boroughs Queens has the most similarities to LA asides the weather and palm trees. It's a sh1tload of houses with gated windows on both sides from Jamaica Queens to Watts. It's an urban suburb outside of your average project building when you look at it.

Been out west and felt at home in a sense. House parties, chillin in the driveway or on the stoop/porch.

Both laid back don't fu#k up the vibe energy.

that was doing the same on the east.

Ice cube went and linked up with Hank Shocklee and the bomb squad ( public
enemy producers)

Easy Mo Bee Was cooking with PAC and BIGGIE.

Just Blaze , Eric Sermon ( is like the east coast dr.dre to me) , Preemo,
Buckwild, etc

I feel like this is a Moot argument, because the entire point of being a producer is to produce sound dynamics for an artist, regardless of coast, or genre. The Neptunes are from VA and sound nothing like Timberland, or Teddy Riley, but have done everything from Pop to Hip Hop. Same goes for Swiss. He was at the forefront of the sound that was Ruff Ryder, but also produced for Rock acts like Limp Bisket. I think the entire point of being a producer is to do just that, produce, so arguing who adapts better is missing the point that a producer is suppose to be making the sound for the artist in front of them, regardless of what that artist does. Of course there will be examples that live outside of this frame work, but yeah... that's my two cent

Lets be honest Nas sales suck (Streaming and Sales)

Die hard fans are creating and responding to this post and pushing the effort, but lets be honest… Hitboy waisting beats on NaS and Im a Nas fan

Kings Disease
The record earned a total of 29,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 20,000 in streaming equivalent album units (26.47 million on-demand streams of the tracks), 8,500 in album sales and 500 in track equivalent album units.

Kings Disease 2
For comparison, Nas' previous project, Magic, debuted at No. 27 with 22,000 units, while 2021's King's Disease II took the No. 2 with 47,000 units.Nov 19, 2022

KD3
King's Disease III debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard 200 with 29,000 album-equivalent units, making it Nas's 16th top-10 album on the chart (a record he shares with American rapper JAY-Z).

The West Coast has better all around producers that are able to adapt to any style specifically the East Coast?

You have DJ Muggs with House of Pain and Soul Assassins.

Dr. Dre with Nas, The Firm, Jay Z, 50, Busta, Rakim, Eve, etc.

Alchemist with Mobb Deep and Hit-Boy with Nas.

Like all of those producers have compilations with those rappers too. It's not just a few collabs.
I thought alchemist was from queens.
Ny producers are more golden era hip hop though.
Being that the sound of hip hop has changed so much, and ny doesn't have a real hip hop identity anymore, its logical that other regions would start having the best producers

It's hard too call it. I mean the east coast got dark child, timberland, Neptune's, scott storch, salaam remi, swizz beatz just too name a few who have signature sounds but can adapt too different sounds.

Trap and crunk is a Memphis sound then Atlanta took it and wanna claim it as a “south sound”
zaytoven is from the west his piano sound gave the south a new wave

no city in the south has a specific sound like 20 years ago thats why a whole region gotta group up against cali and ny

I think I’d be more impressed to do SOUTHERN sh1t. Honestly

Eastcoast is easy to adapt to, cuz the rappers focus more on lyrics,

I wanna see one of them produce somethin for a rapper like youngboy. Doing party music that makes a bi#ch shake her a$s is different than music where the lyrics are the main idea

And then you gotta look at who influenced them, if the westcoast producer was influenced by NY producers.

To be honest I never really liked Dre as a producer. He's good but he seems very over rated.

Timberland seems better as an all around producer rather than Dre
I’d like to say Tim is a better producer, Dre is a dope producer tho, but more importantly and AMAZING engineer in his own right.

No. All it proves is how easy the east coast style is. I don't mean that as a diss. Just saying that the "east coast style" is like the easiest production style of all time. Anyone from anywhere on any level can recreate that style.
