Wouldn’t surprise me if this is how a lot of Euros feel coming to the NBA.

Luka got Dennis Smith Jr out of Dallas very quickly then had Cuban rip him that he wasn’t fundamentally sound enough to play for the Mavs. He represented an AAU culture that they don’t like. AKA too urban

But Dennis Smith is legit trash though.

Luka didn't have DSJ traded, DSJ wasn't good and was part of the Porzingis trade. DSJ doesn't even get minutes on the Knicks... I do think that Cuban is an a$$hole with racist ideologies.
Luka took control as PG. There wasn’t room for 2 “point guards” and it still isn’t unless it’s someone like Dragic who has experience with Luka. Nobody foresaw Luka being as ball dominant as a Harden or Westbrook.

And DSJ isn’t even on the Knicks. I’m not sure what the future holds for him because it’s extremely hard to get another opportunity as a starting PG once your drafting team drops you. Dallas had a vision for the guy, & we didn’t. I can’t foresee him getting another starting job regardless of how he plays.

Just watched the vid. So basically Marbury derailed his career. To sum it up, he didn't want to play with a shoot first PG, Ai, which is why he asked the sixers not to draft him but they did anyway and he was immediately traded to the nets... He beasted by scoring 19 ppg and 21 ppg in his first two seasons showing that he was on his way to being a great player but his 3rd year the nets got Marbury, who had a very similar play style to Ai which Keith didn't want to play with and his career was never the same. I think ultimately he just didn't wanna play with the guards who had that Streetball element to their game. Ai, Marbury, Francis etc

DSJ sucks and the AAU culture is horrible for basketball which is why Kobe spoke against it
It’s bad for college basketball, but we’ve seen some of the most talented rookie classes over the last 5-10 years. Guys are coming in and making an impact right away that is just an extension of how good they were on the AAU scene. I saw Trae & MPJ in AAU live. What they’re doing in the league they were doing there. But I see why a lot of people feel that it’s messed up the NBA. Everything is way more pick & roll & overdribbling, not the same level of off ball movement, and guys aren’t as fundamentally sound as they were in the past.

I mean I guess. I’m not saying that Luka shouldn’t have snatched the ball out his hands and made the team move as he do.

I gotta watch the vid, but if that’s true why didn’t he flourish playing with Kidd? It’s like him and Kittles fell off the planet after the ‘98 season. Maybe injuries got the best of them once Kidd arrived, coupled with the addition of RJ and KMart.

I'm weird but you blaming Luka for this man being garbage. He had plenty of chances to prove he was good on the Knicks. You do this same caping for Andrew Wiggins. You gotta be the lamest n1gga in this section

The video goes more in depth but it says how Keith was always looking for a long term situation where he could be comfortable. He was still a good player with both Marbury and Kidd but he wasn't the number 1 option any longer and like you said the emergence of other players reduced his role as well. As far as Kittles that injury is definitely what fu#k him up

Can't 'een front... I used to get BUSY w/ Kidd, Kittles, Jefferson, Van Horn & Kenyon Martin in NBA Live 2002 and 2003. Whole squad was cash from pretty much anywhere on the court except for Martin, who still had a decent mid range game and was a beast in the paint.

Those were the days and being from Jersey, Kidd making the cover in '03 had us gassed. Those were the days.

DSJ was never that good of a player, he was picked high off his athleticism.

Luka being ball dominant was not a surprise considering scouts said he was great playmaker. How many elite playmakers aren't ball dominant?

DSJ is on the pistons now which would hurt his stock since Cade is another ball dominant player. The only way DSJ will get NBA minutes now is if he can develop a 3 point shot.

How many elite playmakers win championships playing that style of basketball?

Luka isn’t some Magic, Kidd, CP3. He’s a scoring wing who has total ball handling duties on his team. He takes the most shots & he creates the most shots for others who play off of him. There’s a video of him refusing to pass the ball to Porzingis in multiple instances because the offense flows thru him and if he don’t got confidence in KP to make a shot when he get it to him, then he’s not going to get it to him.

A lot of the criticism LeBron gets is due to how his most successful teams are built around him where guys have to sacrifice for him to shine. Luka isn’t on LeBron’s level but Luka operates like LeBron early on in Cleveland. It’s no room for a #2 who does his own thing. If you’re going to eat it’s because he feeds you.

Name a white player better than Luka, lets have a healthy discussion. thinking of making a Trae vs Luka Thread.... Dont say them old night like Bird, most players from that era would be in the G league or overseas

All I hear is splainin ... he wasn't comfortable in every place he played..
He didn't want to play this style with the Brothas etc
Based off this video
Probably would have been best if he was playing for the Utah Jazz with his people

Is there anything explicitly said that we missed? What did he do to indicate he doesn't rock with black folks?
