In the story Jacob's name is changed to Israel after he wrestles an angel.
But if these people were called Israelites only AFTER Jacob
Then what was supposed to be the race of this family before Jacob?

Cyrene was a Spartan colony founded on a myth of the God Apollo giving the stuttering shepherd named Battus A Promised Land he would rule for 40 years.
