UFC rights go to Paramount in stunning $7.7 billion deal

Disney's ESPN Scores Big With NFL Network Acquisition

Say goodbye to pay-per-view.

Paramount is purchasing the rights to UFC in a landmark $7.7 billion deal over seven years beginning in 2026, the companies announced in a statement Monday, in a move that will eliminate the pay-per-view model. All of the UFC’s events will now be accessible with only a Paramount+ subscription, and select numbered events will also air on CBS.

“This historic deal with Paramount and CBS is incredible for UFC fans and our athletes,” UFC president Dana White said in a statement. “For the first time ever, fans in the U.S. will have access to all UFC content without a Pay-Per-View model, making it more affordable and accessible to view the greatest fights on a massive platform. This deal puts UFC amongst the biggest sports in the world. The exposure provided by the Paramount and CBS networks under this new structure is a huge win for our athletes and anyone who watches and loves this sport.”

People still care about UFC like that?

Serious question: Where does it rank in terms of interest when it comes to American sports?

Waste of money , this deal will surely bankrupt CBS . Inflation & layoffs are rampant & they are willing to spend that much . They will never make that back on add revenue

This is what the bytedance merger was facilitating. UFC and Champions league could make CBS a big player in sports again.

Will the fighters get a pay raise? $1+ billion a year to air fights. No fighter, even in the prelims should be clearing less than $100-150k before taxes. Plus affordable Healthcare.

Disney just paid $1.6 billion for pro wrestling over keeping the UFC. This is the UFC 3rd deal moving to a different digital provider. The issue is they need to create stars. They have good fighters and good fights. But outside of Jon Jones and Connor McGregor, they don't have a lot of star power for the casual viewer. Plus they're severely underpaid and have to provide their own Healthcare with them being underpaid. Still have to pay coaches, trainer, gym fees, taxes, taxes in the states they fight in before covering their own bills. They need to be paid more money overall.

Yep. Keyword America.

One Championship out of Thailand is 10x more exciting, so is Glory Kickboxing out of Europe.

Since the UFC lost all their stars to age, WWE, celebrity boxing they don’t have a clue.

Power slap?

Boxing is too fragmented with 10+ weight classes spread out over 4 federations - it all needs to be consolidated into one but it’ll
Never happen

Exactly. All the superstars are old and retired. Dana ain’t paying enough to create a star and that’s why they go fight Jake Paul

CBS still has the NFL, WNBA marquee games, college basketball, etc.: Money wise, they will be just fine. But I think doing Saturday Night UFC Fights on CBS would be pretty dope. The NFL money alone will pay for this

If boxing had some type of commission, I wouldn't even care about the 4 divisions. I've been watching boxing since the mid-90s, and it's something I've grown accustomed to. But I just want to see fighters stop ducking each other, making excuses, missing weight on purpose, etc.: The one thing the UFC has right is they do put together good fights. This is why Saudi Arabia is looking at boxing like "you have to fight him." And they are asking "why aren't you going to fight him? Aren't y'all in the same weight class, both ranked at the top of y'all division. Yet, y'all can't fight each other."
