Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz does not own any stocks, securities or real estate, per the newly-minted Democratic vice presidential candidate’s most recent financial disclosures.

Axios first reported the disclosures Wednesday following the announcement on Tuesday that Walz would join Harris on the Democratic ticket to oppose former President Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio).

The findings come from the disclosures that Walz filed earlier this year as governor and in 2018 during his last year serving in the House. Walz represented Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District from 2007 to 2019 before being elected to his first term as governor.

The disclosure he filed as governor shows that he did not report any businesses owned, securities or real estate. It also does not mention any speaking fees or book deals.

Walz and his wife, Gwen, do not own their home, having reportedly sold their house in Mankato, Minn., in 2019, the first year of his time as governor, and moved into the governor’s mansion as their only residence.

Walz’s only investment comes from pensions, including his past time as a teacher. He taught social studies for years before first running for Congress in 2006.

Most elected officials tend to have considerably more financial investments.

Harris and Walz appeared at their first campaign rally together on Philadelphia on Tuesday evening, kicking off what will be a roughly 90-day campaign after President Biden announced he would end his reelection bid last month.

The Democratic National Committee announced following the rally on Tuesday that Harris and Walz had officially been certified as the party’s nominees for president and vice president, respectively. They are set to accept their nominations at the Democratic convention in Chicago later this month.

Sounds like a boxden member god damn. What the fu#k is this man doing with his bread?????

Edit -

The former teacher and congressman’s assets are mostly limited to pensions, whole life insurance and college savings. He and his wife, Gwen Walz, have a net worth between $112,003 to $330,000, as of his 2019 financial disclosure. The value of his federal pension benefit could add roughly $800,000 to their net worth, based on The Wall Street Journal’s analysis.

As governor, Walz hasn’t had to disclose as much information as when he was in Congress, and it is unclear how much changed since his last federal filing in 2019. Walz’s team declined to comment on his finances.

So he does have a 529 of some sort, and his extra bread is in that whole life policy and near million dollar pension. He's not financially crazy and does own assets that appreciate in relation to the stock market. Good to know.

What did they do with the money from selling their home?
If they want to live in the governor's mansion temporarily, I can see them trying to buy a home after the governor gig is over. It's kind of like AOC, money has gone to her head and now, she can't go back to bartending because she couldn't go back to slumming it after she's tasted the six-figure salary luxury lifestyle.

I mean, this is a good thing?

The ole mantra of [republican] voters being: “keep money out of politics”.

He literally has none invested in his profession.

From the outside looking in, it appears he's served for something greater than money, for the majority of his life.

Right....polticians are only rich because of other streams of income that they probably gained with their political position. Most of these folks already bought and controlled by their "supporters"

People with far less have at least a 529 with a couple dollars for a grandchild or a brokerage.

Kamala's portfolio is what I want to see from a politician. Set it and forget it index's with no sector focus or individual stocks. Having absolutely no assets beyond a teacher pension at that age is bizarre imo.

Some do and many don't. Seems like a regular guy who made enough to support his family. Dont see that as a bad thing.

Kamala has been in politics for 20+ years, its an absurd comparison.

He's been in politics 20 years too. And that really has nothing to do with a 60 year old American having zero assets. 60 year old teachers all across America have property, investment accounts, etc. it doesn't make him a bad human but it is extremely peculiar.

No. You live in a fantasy world and clearly don't actually know any teachers.

I know a lot of teachers and in the summer they struggle because they don't get paid. Seen studies where like 40-50% of teachers struggle to pay bills on time. But according to you they all have properties and investments.

He became governor in 2018..thats not 20 years.

Kamala has been in politics and a lawyer for 20+ years..Kamala husband is also a millionaire..of course she has more money. The fu#k.

Just think...the same people who constantly tell us Nancy Pelosi's corny a$s should be locked up for stock trading her a$s off, or when members of the GOP magically invested in masks and protective materials while telling folks not to get sick(Which in turn - got them sick
emoji
) - that they should've been locked up

Those same people are now arguing and talking sh1t cause the guy doesn't have anything he's invested in that his legislation could possibly help in enriching himself.

This is a positive, y'all always say get the money out of politics and this is one of the ways it could happen.

They so used to wealthy fu#ks who really are only looking out for themselves ruling over them that they can't fathom the idea of a guy getting up, going to work, and going the fu#k home without any extra sh1t attached to it
emoji

I'm still not convinced to vote this fall, but this is a positive.
