Going to be honest with you guys, I live in northern VA/DC area and it frustrates the hell out of me that I pay $2700/month on a 1 bedroom and I see a few of my neighbors who clearly 100% use housing vouchers and live in the same building as me and provided the same luxury. They stick out like a sore thumb

Many people picture that every person who is provided housing assistance is stuck in the slums or in the hood. This is not always true.

I assume landlords somehow benefit from this

If we as a society are fine with the existence of some to hoard an excess of wealth, we should provide an equal measure of empathy towards those with very little.

I’m 50/50 on this. In short, 2 years isn’t enough. I say 5 years should be the max & there should be mandatory job training & reemployment to integrate you back into the workforce.

People with extenuating factors such as a debilitating injury or disability should be the only people who have extended Section 8, but only after being evaluated by a state doctor, every 5 years.

The racist media depicts black single-parent mothers as the poster child of Section 8, when in fact the biggest recipients are white & the biggest scammers are white jews. Some of my white neighbors are renting homes via Section 8 & wonder how I can afford to live here as a young, black man.

i'm a director software engineer at my job ...i wanted to leave my company this year coz the last couple years they have not paid out bonuses or gave me a proper yearly increase
