Glad RJ is back and Dante did a good job filling in. Hope Grimes comes back quick.
I saw the discussion on twitter about starting him over Grimes.. Dante is good but lets get real here.. it's 1 game vs one of the worst teams in the league. If Dante can show he can defend some of the best scorers in the league on GOOD teams, then maybe.
But let's not forget the job Grimes did on Mitchell in the playoffs.
Does Grimes have a future on this team is the real question.
Lets get this W tonight game against a top team
This for the guys in here that wanted to ship RJ out for this guy. I dont hear those rumbling as much this season
agreed but to be fair last year (prior to playoffs) RJ was a net negative and virtually any average starter would have been an upgrade.
he played great in the offs, olympics and this season so far which is great to see.
lavine is an empty stats guy and combined with his contract and injury concerns, i wouldn't want him.
Understood but I didnt know why RJ was getting compared at 21 to someone in the middle of their prime at 27. I thought that was unfair comparison when the wiz gave Beal 5 seasons for him to break 20 ppg and find his footing. Thats who I use as the barometer for SG's developing.

i agree. some people use his age to defend him others said "it's his 4th year" and use that against him.
he's 23 now but am encouraged with what we've seen. he might always be a streaky player but it's best case scenario for the knicks if he figures it out and we keep him rather than trading for a bigger contact.
I think the coaching is a bit better this season and guys are sharing the rock better and he knows how to get his. Last season was learning to play with two guys that get theres and learn how to get yours.
if he can maintain his plus defense and better efficiency, we're golden.
I wanted Lavine back in 2020. It made more sense back then, than it does now.
It still didnt make sense to me in a season we would've been on the hook for his 5 year 215 mill contract.
