Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal is one of the biggest names said to be available via a trade this offseason, and the Knicks could be a potential suitor.

Sources tell SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley that Beal was one of the high profile shooting guards the Knicks discussed internally during the season as a trade option this summer.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday that with rivals already reaching out to the Wizards to discuss the possibility of a Beal trade, Washington team president Michael WInger and Beal's agent Mark Bartelstein are "staying in close contact" to discuss scenarios.

Beal, 29, has been the subject of trade rumors for quite some time, and despite signing a five-year, $251 million dollar extension in the summer of 2022, those rumors have not gone away.

An 11-year veteran, Beal is a three-time All-Star selection, averaging 22.1 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 37.2 percent from three-point range over the course of his career.

The Knicks took a huge step towards building a championship roster last offseason when they signed point guard Jalen Brunson, and a trade for Beal would not only give them one of the best backcourts in the NBA, but it would also put them firmly in the conversation as legitimate NBA title contenders.

I’m not against trading Randle as long as we get good value. But as for the pairing with Beal, I like him better with Randle than RJ.

I dont really want Beal to be honest. Id rather have a taller 3 or 4 thats a lockdown defender and can hit 3s. Beal doesnt play much defense and hes played in only 90 out of 164 games the past 2 years

Same with Miami. They at least have 2 picks to trade but all they have is bad contracts for their young guys.
