I think we need to reconsider playing major colleges, even a Maryland, game one. We need a real tune up game to get guys confidence up in our program right now. Hell they need to get my damn confidence up

I read that article last night around 3 AM, sums up everything I said in that long post I made. From your honest perspective if Herman doesn’t work out which he may not who should Texas hire?
Mike Elko or Scott Satterfield.

What’s the chances Dabo would come if given a big contract offer? Also I actually like Lane Kiffin just not as a HC at a historic football program
Brent V would be good but I can’t see him going anywhere but KSU after Snyder

Herman needs to get his head out of his a$s and stop being so damn arrogant. Just call the damn plays yourself and strip Beck of duties/ It was so obvious when Herman started calling plays on Saturday cause we went right down the field and scored on Maryland with up tempo and didn't run it anymore after that

I know. And I'm saying that if Todd Orlando is as good as i heard when we hired Elko... why can't he have it?

He has to establish himself as the smartest person in the room. He kinda condescending and i think that's why the media is turning on him.

But in all actuality he's making the same mistake Charlie did. Loyalty gets you nowhere in the Power 5 conference. I understand the idea that y'alls offensive players have had like 3 or 4 OCs that are very different, but it should be Tom's offense anyway. We'll ase though. It's only one game.

Beaty might be available after this year though.

I think Orlando is overrated as fu*k, honestly. But, that's just my opinion. Like Herman the merman.

It's going to hurt recruiting too, in my opinion.

“It's been great. We were actually talking about that in our staff meeting this morning, just continuing to bring in great walk-ons,” said coach Lincoln Riley. “It's something we believe in a lot. It's something we're really working hard at, and I think if you're a walk-on guy out there that maybe is like Lee Morris that got overlooked, this is a program you can look at and say, ‘I can go in and get an opportunity, and if I do what I'm supposed to do, then I can get an opportunity to play and earn scholarship and do all the things a lot of those guys have done.’

“I think we've got lucky that we have had some guys who want to play here but the staff has also worked hard on those guys, and it's an important part of our program without a doubt.”

At Oklahoma, there isn’t a difference between who is on scholarship and who isn’t.

During practice, two groups are separated in order for everyone to get repetitions. It's something that started with former head coach Bob Stoops and continued into the Riley era.

It’s the reason Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield stayed ready. The reason two-year starting center Erick Wren was able to win a starting job, and the reason three former (redshirt seniors Nick Basquine and Myles Tease; Morris) and one current walk-on wide receiver (Stoops) were highlighted in the depth chart ahead of Oklahoma’s game against UCLA.

“First of all, you give them an opportunity. We do two groups in practice so everybody gets reps — it doesn’t matter who you are,” said offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh. “That’s the one thing here, I’m not saying other places you don’t, but those guys really get an opportunity. If you walk-on here, you’re going to get an opportunity to get reps. Every guy that we have here is getting reps.”

There isn’t a shaming session when scholarship players meet and work with walk-ons. They all see each other the same.

I wanted to show you this, because this is how an actual Head Coach should act. You know good and damn well, as cocky and arrogant as Herman is, there is no way this sh*t goes down in his practice.

God I love rooting for OU. Such a classy a$s team, and a classy football club.

Another thing, that's why every recruit that comes here talks about OU like they're family. You never hear that with Texsa and Herman. It's just crazy man.

Junior wide receiver Marquise Brown didn’t know Tease was a walk-on when he arrived in Norman, and Tease couldn’t tell the difference between the scholarship players and his walk-on brethren.

It’s the culture at Oklahoma. Everyone sees each other eye-to-eye.

“If you don’t know, you can’t tell who is walk-on or who is not — everyone gets treated the same,” Brown said. “No one is getting treated different. It’s like, ‘they come out here and they perform well and they’re going to play.’

“It’s a camaraderie. Everyone is friends, no one is getting singled out or anything like that. Everyone is close together.”

Yeah, because he gets these dudes up for the big games, but other than that he is trash. Did the same thing at Houston. Losing to Navy, losing to SMU, then beating Louisville with Lamar Jackson, then losing Memphis.

As a lifelong Tennessee who's old enough to have seen them when they were straight as f@ck and witnessed the sh!t show it's been the last decade I can tell you with 100% certainty that you're nowhere near as bad as Tennessee but your program is trending that way. I don't think you'll get as bad as we are now because you have an ad that cares about football more than ours did plus you still have 1 more horrible hire to go

You fired brown with a decent plan in place that just happened to not work out. We fired fulmer with no plan and instead of hiring Gary Patterson who wanted the job we hired Kiffin with no buyout then Dooley, and finally the coach that took the Colorado job but we swooped in and got ol bumass Butch Jones

sh*t I didn’t know Patterson wanted the job at Tennessee, that’s crazy. I knew butch jones wasn’t the guy for y’all, good a$s recruiter but mediocre coach. What do you think about Pruitt? And do you think Herman will turn Texas around?

I like Pruitt and he's brought in a great staff I just know Tennessee is at least 3-4 years away from being contending for anything in the sec because of depth and our athletes so I hope fans are patient and he gets time. It's still up in the air for Herman it'll depend how stubborn he is with his philosophy it'll definitely be evident if he's the man for the job or just keeping the seat warm for the next guy by the end of this year. He needs to start being more personable with the press because unless you're winning like Saban it's pretty much game over when they turn on you
