I’m not saying every Guard is a 6’6 powerhouse, but they’re not going to be BBQ chicken every single time they end up on someone bigger in todays game. Whether you feel that has to do with skillset or me saying it’s because they’re purposely drafting a certain body type & not a guy like an Aron Williams who physically was a beige moose. That’s just where the game has gone.
Bruh as a former coach, I'm telling you, for a properly trained big man that knows how to use his body, angles, footwork and positioning...EVERY guard or wing is BBQ chicken on the block. They may not scorer 100% of the time, but you're gonna get fouled and/or put the defense in a compromising position when they fear your work down there.

Teams are drafting what's available. None of these kids are training for legit big man work. Let Jokic sniff another chip and watch how fast some of these wirey rim winners start getting phased out for bigs that work the post and shoot 15-28 feet

This might have to go into hall of Fame of the dumbest posts in bxsc history my guy

Just say you never watched Hakeem play if you think that skill set doesnt translate to today's game
I never said Hakeem couldn’t be effective.

I said it’s pointless for n1ggas who are not Hakeem to devote offensive possessions to do nothing more than a tribute to Hakeem in the middle of a competitive game in the NBA in the year 2023 where none of that fits within the flow of these games like it could have in 1993 or even 2003.

It’s a lot of stuck in my day a$s n1ggas in this section who mentally can’t escape the 90’s. I get it. It was a fun time, but it’s over with.

I get what you’re saying but this is a new era.

It’s a lot of former coaches like yourself who have coached college or the NBA who got swept up in the current holding onto what things used to be instead of trying to be a step ahead of where things are headed. It’s been eye opening to see how many older NBA fans loved that Nuggets championship because it gave them the feel of not just the NBA but the game of basketball they once understood.

If you got logic on the situation, offer it.

No reason to be salty because you disagree with what I’m saying since you’ve slapped every post I’ve made in here like that changes the premise of me telling y’all that sh1t has changed and the past ain’t coming back.

Yall think Greek gonna be able to power through n1ggas his entire career? He already been having random injuries lately! Hakeem teaches more than just the Dream shake. He teaches footwork in the post, soft touches around the basket, how to pass out of the double. Not even gonna talk about defense. All sh1t that Greek will need to prolong his career and help him take it up another level or else he will retire with that 1 lonely ring

Giannis don’t have any touch. He can’t shoot FT’s. He can’t shoot jumpers.

People respect him because he puts the work in to improve his weaknesses, they just continue to remain weaknesses, it’s kinda like you are what you are it’s only so much you can do to become the person you want to be.

When he can’t power through n1ggas his prime will be over, but he’s already established himself as a Top 10 PF ever so it wouldn’t be anything to complain about.

So why TF did LeBron go workout with Hakeem after his disastrous performance in the finals against the Mavs? He couldn’t take advantage of little a$s JJ Barrera in the post because he had no moves. That was a glaring weakness of his and once he fixed that you saw him way more comfortable in the post which lead him to being even more unstoppable as a player.
That was 2011.

It’s 2023 going on 2024.

You’re basically describing a gap in years almost the equivalent of Jordan coming into the league and winning his 6th ring and discussing it like it was “just yesterday” when LeBron worked with Hakeem.

I respect what you saying but we gotta understand that regardless of how you train it’s impossible to be the “perfect player”. As much as you might criticize what a player does in an important moment, they should ONLY be doing what they feel most comfortable with doing & have a track record of success at doing. Giannis is never going to be in a position with the game on the line trying to showcase a move he learned in September. He’s going to do what has earned him 2 MVP’s. And that’s entirely ok.
Respect to your opinion too G, just wanna share a story.

I put it like this now that I've been back hooping the last 2 summers. I played ball in college right, small school nothing major but I tore my meniscus after college hooping and pretty much quit for about 7 years. Full Court Neighborhood court 100 yards from my doorstep. I said fu#k it one day and got back to it. All Station work right, no games played I just started doing hour hour and a half all station work working on the parts of my game that didn't get showcased. I was a 3 ball off the down screen or curl shooter so off the dribble iso is what I never really had to do. Where I'm going with this is I just started watching NBA players summer work outs and started stealing their drills to get me back into shape to play Men's leagues. Now I realize this video isn't really what we're talking about cuz its a 3 ball shooting game now but the way I see sh1t is if I can steal a gem from anybody that'll help me bring the trophy home this winter I'm for it
emoji
and I'f I'm making $200M I'm absolutley paying Dream $50K to help me win that 1 situation in the playoffs where I get an Iso post up for the game.

Mahmoud got a sh1t ton of videos giving free game and here I am at my ripe OG age still listening

Maybe since I coached I look at the game different but y’all kill me with that in the past sh1t. Because it worked for LeBron in 2011 doesn’t mean it’s going to work for insert player here in 2023-2024.

Do you understand how much time has passed?

And the changes that have taken place within that window?

That’s why I equated it to Master P earlier.

You had the cheat code back in the day, but if I can’t put that same cheat code into play today, all you doing is giving me a history lesson & blessing me with the wisdom to find my own “cheat code” except you gonna profit in the end for the “game”.

My dude, if you cut on a random NBA game next month how much of this are you going to see in the post? That’s all I’ve been getting at for 7 pages now. There is no way any of y’all are actually watching the current product. And half of the people I’ve said this to in this thread openly say they think the NBA has become garbage.

That’s my point. The game is watered down. That’s why we losing to fu#king Germany. They not trying be fu#king cool all shooting and dribbling like they some guards. Obviously the current NBA have a better skill set when it comes to combo moves/dribble packages and shooting, they are more athletic and have more access to information but it showed itself in World Championship. That’s why Joker is dominating right now because he can get a bucket in the post when he needs to on top of having his other skills. No one is asking n1ggas to sit in the post like Kareem but good footwork and learning how to score from multiple spots and in different ways makes you a complete hooper Also I’m not everyone else. I watch the game, I know the game, and I’ve coached the game for many years. Doesn’t make me special but I see what I see. It’s all good B, I just don’t get the stigma with improving your post game even if it’s used sparingly.

LeBron had no damn “glaring” weakness, he just choked.

Do you really think LeBron needed to work with Hakeem so he could take advantage of J.J. Barea? Come on dude

Bron was sinking fadeaways from the post before the Dallas series against the Bulls and Celtics (two elite defensive teams)

LeBron has pretty much had the same skillset his whole career. Hyper athletic terror who thrives in transition. bully his way to the rim and drive and kick or layup. And when he doesnt see an easy way to the rim, waste the shot clock looking for a pass and take a jumper if no pass opens up
