Tennis doesn't have the same fu#ked up rules that NBA and NFL do saying you have to speak to the media. fu#k them hoes; let them find their stories elsewhere.
Yes they do, all tour participants have to speak to the media.

With everything going on in her Father's homeland and her playing and donating her winnings to that cause it is on brand for her.

Osaka-Bae is actually really smart with media and her image to the point where even if she looks bad she has a way to gain from it.

She's already cleared up the misinformation several times. The real issue are the weirdos on all fronts who continue to misrepresent her words and shoot vitriol at her due to their ulterior motives
…but she has to interact with the “weirdos” because it’s mandatory for her to do so right?

Im all for mental health but you're the professional here. You know you have certain things that need to be done. Bottom line. THat crying sh1t kind of unacceptable at this level. Maybe she got some sh1t going on at home but mufu#kas on a regular 9-5 cant just show up to work and start crying cause they got sh1t going on at home

Yes but I'm saying she's said several times that the issue isn't necessarily the mandatory interview part

bi#ch got some real mental issues for an athlete, especially her status, never seen this in my history.

You can't want success, and not expect media attention like this. She needs to take some classes.

either way, my man CORDAE will fix that when she gets home

It'll be news when she's not crying. Just stop playing tennis if it's too difficult to talk to reports...sh1t not that serious
That’s what I’m saying. She gotta take a mental health break again. She gotta do her. It’s HER life. But you don’t gotta subject yourself to sh1t you don’t want to do. Plus she has the support of pretty much everybody

I myself find it funny she has “mental issues” but willingly put her self on the cover of the SI Swimsuit issue after her first breakdown. I give the benefit of the doubt to most people but something ain’t adding up here. Just take the time away from the spotlight to get mentally right.

Sounds like a young girl from this generation. To a T

Stop it, y'all pick and choose when to do this speech on a soapbox

Example: Logic

Y'all never claimed that n1gga or gave him that kind of support

I propped….BUT Logic isn’t really the same. His grandfather is half black. Lol.

You know how many “white people” are black if that’s the bar we are using? It would shock you.

The one-drop rule is an unscientific racist concept that was used to dehumanize people of African descent back in the day.

Using it today to claim that someone of mixed ancestry belongs to one particular “race” actually says more about your own insecurities.

The thing about these post and views is that it disregards the fact that society will see you as black and treat you accordingly. Was Obama treated different for having a black parent? Would Trump have been viewed differently if he had one? Race is a societal issue, it’s not just about phenotypes.

Actually watched the vid. I can’t blame the reporters at all. This looks like it’s solely about her mental health. Like she seems she’s suffering from depression. Hope she can get the help she needs. Or maybe she just missing her man

If anything the female reporter at the end went too hard. She asked like 3 rapid questions when saw Naomi struggling

It’s this generation bro. Hypersensitive as fu#k reminds me of that old Tyler tweet. Like that’s how all these kids think now even some of the older heads. Naomi did give a super bad look for mixed and ethnic folks out here in Japan tho. She had the opportunity to light the torch and then just fizzled away. Win are lose you go out with pride. She tucked her tail and ran and cried some more. She is starting to be like the lizzo chick. She needs to get it together.

She could make big waves here for people I know about 50 girls that look like her out here. You can always rep your ethnicity, and your nationality. She gave up American citizenship to be Japanese it’s bigger than all the endorsements and the sport and everything. I mean normal sports players don’t change citizenship like that. I mean she has a lot to live upto. I been rooting for her since day one but what is she in her 20s? Whenever I hear her speak it feels lile a little teenager.
I sense a little Michael Jackson syndrome in the sense that maybe she is not mentally mature enough. Mike wasn’t this bad though. Just a kid at heart. And he went through way worse sh1t. Without cracking.

Great point when you bring up the similarities between Lizzo and Naomi. It feels like maybe they weren’t ready for superstardom. It’s tougher than we can probably imagine. And it’s not just about everyone loving you all of the time. People are going to look at you weird and it might even seem like they dislike you at times. That’s what comes with being an idol. That’s what they’re not getting. They think they are just supposed to be loved and cottled. Doesn’t work like that

I would really like to just have a conversation with Naomi. I'd like to understand what makes her depressed. She's a 23 year old, beautiful, physically healthy, millionaire, highly successful athlete with fans across the globe.

I truly can't fathom a single thing that could make someone living that kind of life depressed.

I'm not looking for sympathy, but I'm 34 years old, I was born with Muscular Dystrophy, I was diagnosed with a type of Lymphoma (cancer) a couple years ago, I'm short, I'm overweight and I'm not what most would consider classically attractive. If anyone should and could be excused for being depressed it would be someone like myself, but I'm not.

I have a great job, I can afford to pay all my bills, I enjoy playing golf and my family loves and supports me. I'm overall an extremely happy and positive person. It's all about perspective and I just wish more people had the ability to see the positive things in their lives that I'm certain vastly outweigh the negative.

I got 2 daughters in U11 and U 16 BBall, and I tell them ALL the time. It's ok to cry, but NEVER on the court or in front of the other teams/people.

Hold it down, and you can cry with me after, at home where no one can see you.

Can't let them see that they are getting to you, EVER!

Hold on there pleighboi. We’re not talking about the way broader society treats people. We’re talking about one person using the genetics argument to claim that someone is black while ignoring the genes that would mean that they are equally Asian. That’s the definition of cherry-picking.

When Talcum X is out here making money off impersonating a black man I don’t want to hear sh1t about society.

I didn’t know anyone was saying that. The only thing that says that is the one drop rule. Genetically she is equally black and Asian

Sounds like you raising your daughters like boys smh!

Your daughters are females, not males. They will be overly emotional, that's healthy for a woman. Ya'll confusing these chicks, raising them like boys, when they girls.

But....she's not from the U.S. So that position makes no sense. Her birthplace is literally in her name: Osaka, Japan. Only in the US is the racist "one drop rule" even a concept and today it's clung to stronger by Black people than by the extreme White Supremacists who created it. It reeks of desperation and Black folk have somehow accepted it as a positive- like eating chitlin's and pig feet. Now we got Black Americans out here laying claim to foreign borne people just because they have dark skin. Can we just be proud of who WE are? Damn...you hate to see it.
she Black idiot

when extreme white supremacists cowards start accepting Black kids they'd rather disown they daughters f@ggot
