Getting closer to draft time.
Who would you guys take at 3, assuming CMC and Bijan are gone?
I'm between Breece and Tyreek
Long post sorry in advance. I bolded the important parts.
Need some help since my league is drafting super early this year (Wednesday).
My league is heavy on running backs. We get 0.25 points per carry and 0.5 points per reception. Because of this, taking a wide receiver seems pointless.
We are also a 14-team league.
The top 5 scorers from last year in our league were CMC, Lamb, Tyreek, Breece Hall & Etienne. In 2022, the top 5 scorers were Josh Jacobs, Henry, CMC, Ekeler, and Chubb. The highest scoring WR was Justin Jefferson at 7th overall among WR/RB/TEs.
I have pick 6 this year. I am not sure I want to pick Justin Jefferson as he would need to probably have 1600+ yards and 12+ touchdowns to pass even a decent running back because of the points per carry.
If Bijan and Breece Hall are gone, I am thinking about picking Jonathan Taylor at 6 over Justin Jefferson or Ja'Marr Chase because they would need to have a pretty great season to be a top 5 player in the WR/RB area.
Is it crazy to pick Jonathan Taylor at 6? His only competition for carries is Anthony Richardson. His biggest downside is he missed games in back to back years.
Also, is it crazy to not expect a good season out of Jefferson because Sam Darnold is his QB? Like I said, he would have to have about 1600 yards and 12+ TDs to beat out a running back with 1400 yards and 12+ TDs because of the carries.
I don't really love the running backs at the end of the second round.
Also, would it be crazy to think Derrick Henry could have 1400 yards and 12+ touchdowns in Baltimore this year? That's generally top 5 in my league as long as you have 230+ carries.
If Bijan or Breece Hall are gone, I am not sure who the fu#k to pick at 6
With that type of scoring I would pick an RB at 6. Taylor is a good choice if Bijan is gone, seems very safe (assuming CMC and Hall will be gone because obviously they should be). I also think Saquon is a safe pick with potential to blow up. I had him last year in that god awful Giants offense so I watched him play a lot and he’s still a good RB. Now he’s in a completely different situation in a great offense. There’s talk about Hurts vulturing TDs (obviously the tush push won’t completely disappear), but the combination of Swift/Gainwell had 58 carries inside the redzone last year. CMC led the league with 63. If Barkley takes the majority, if not all of those 58, he will find himself in the end zone a lot with his talent. Also seen an Eagles beat writer say they don’t want to push Hurts in the end zone 12 times this season and Saquon was brought in to finish those runs. Not to say all beat writers know everything, but still.
I think it’s a matter of preference.. Taylor might be a slightly safer pick because we’ve already seen him in this offense and know what he brings to the table. But I like Saquon too as an upside pick. I got Henry and Kyren ranked a tier lower, along with Gibbs, who I was high on but that hamstring injury is concerning.
Did a few mocks and I noticed towards the later rounds (12-Team, PPR) that I am running out of options to choose much earlier than previous years.
Who is everybody targeting late?
Anyone else higher on James Conner than some of these mocks? He's 63rd on Yahoo and was the top RB last year the last 6 weeks of the season.
I know he's going to miss 3 to 4 games but if I can pair him with Trey Benson, I love that as my RB2
Look, there's a lot of bitter Giants fans out there who just want Saquon to fail based upon him ending up on the Eagles, but I will say not all of us are hating just to hate. I actually don't have any hate for Saquon, but I don't think he's going to be as dominant on the Eagles as everyone else thinks. He still has a little burst but he's on the decline.
The perception always was Saquon was all the Giants had on offense, and at times that has been true. But in 2022, Saquon was the reason the Giants won games towards the beginning of the season. The last half? It was pretty much all Danny Dimes, Saquon was not effective. His yards after contact have gone down every year recently.
I'm not saying he won't be good at all, but I'm off of him in the first round personally.
Here’s what my draft board looks like. Grabbing dawgs at WR early benefitted me last year. Not sure if I’ll ever draft a RB within the first three rounds ever again
12 man standard league draft
gotta drop someone for a kicker. Leaning btwn samuel or doubs.
Samuel has turf toe and Doubs could just be odd man out. Packers have a lot of weapons. Wicks is already on waivers as well, he was my actual target going into draft.

What's everyone's first round ppr rankings?
Got 2 drafts next week and I know I'm 4th in one. Personally ranking them as such
1. CMC
2. Ceedee
3. Tyreek
4. Amon St Brown
5. Breece Hall
6. Ja'marr Chase
7. Justin Jefferson
8. Bijan Robinson
9. AJ Brown
10. Gibbs
I think I'll be happy if any of the top 3 fall to me at 4th but have been going back and forth between St Brown and Breece. Always wanted St. Brown, but Breece hype has been creeping up on me lately. I'm out on Chase for no other reason than I'd just rather have St Brown.
Feels like a drop off after 7 where u can make more of an argument on those ranked 8-11. Curious how everyone else feels on the top 10
I personally have St Brown as my #1 overall player this year. CMC cool but I typically don’t draft RBs if they’re 28 or older, no real reason honestly just superstition
Joshua Palmer is a WR I am keeping my eye on in the late rounds of the draft. Only thing is my leagues cap roster for WRs is 6 and I may be capped by the time I get there
