I don’t know. I think Ali could be convinced. I don’t think he disliked it outright. I think he doesn’t think it could work.
Now if I’m Ali, and I watch X-men 97. I’d be pulling up to this dude house saying, yo get ya sh1t.
I agree. I think he could be convinced. For context, Beau (X-Men 97) was the 2nd of 6 writers to come in for Blade. So elements from each writer's treatment will be present in the final product.
I remember reading the confirmation of Pizzolatto coming in. I knew a that point, both sides were attempting to compromise for the sake of the film.
Pizzolatto is Mahershala's guy and the 4th writer brought in for this.
You made cyclops cool again !? That n1gga ain’t been cool for over two decades !!
A little off topic, but I really have a love/hate relationship with Cyclops/Jean. They suck the attention out of the room. You have 5 OG X-Men and everyone is rotated out, but - Cyclops/Jean. Bobby, Beast, and Angel might miss some iterations, but Cyclops n Jean never miss anything.
Their relationship overtake everything.
Imagine if Gunn made Gamora/Peter the whole franchise to the point that what is going on with Rocket's story in Pt 3 becomes a side story.
I like Scott finally getting some flavor in X-Men 97, but it is similar to when I was younger watching TAS and X-Men Evolution. Cyclops/Jean
are the priority and others don't matter as much.
Grew up and still am a Gambit fan. I'm okay with his death, but it's back to Cyclops/Jean.
Past 30 years, Wolverine and Storm have become big in their own right, but they too succumb to B plots when the group is together.
Storm going through sh1t too, but she becomes "how could you too not notice that wasn't Jean, you're my sister" and then Storm feels guilty and has to pet Jean.
What’s weird is he’s already been in a scene with Magic, granted a HINT of it. But still.
As Beau described in his Indiana Jones comparison -
Blade dislikes magic, but it's part of his world. I can see Mahershala buying into that as you said.
The Ebony Blade been used by Blade in the past, so that is most likely why they had Mahershala's voice in Eternals.
Based on Beau's words, looks like Louis might be the issue.
