Any tips for a live fantasy draft? Never been to one but doing 1 this year.
that ADP bar is prolly top 3 as far as tips. My big money league we been live drafting for about 4-5 years now. Every yr the ADP/all the mocks you did gets thrown out the damn window bc somone grabs a guy where nobody expects. So have your game plan, but be able to adapt.
pretty obv but bring whatever materials you gonna need esp a deep list of players. Wherever you get said list make sure you print that sh1t out night before so its up to date. I done seen too many n1ggas draft players that got hurt a cpl days prior to our draft.
While at the the draft, if pre season isnt over i keep my fantasy updates sites open. Ive seen players get hurt for during our draft.
i also like to sit near the front so i can see everyone picks. When you can see other rosters you can get a better feel of when a run might start. Like buddy said they happen often bc errbody starts panicking.
Others have given you some good tips and I have some too but my 1st piece of advice is enjoy that sh1t. My big money league, that I have been in for a long time, we did a live draft for about 3 years. They were fu#king fun. Get some good food. Get some drinks. Talk sh1t among every one. After a few years, people moved too far away to join the live draft and sh1t moved back online. Live drafts are really fun.
My advice, you may be able to get a sleeper or two a little easier because people forgot about them. Players past the #100 mark will get ignored because there is no online platform to remind them that player exists.
For example, Jeff Wilson Jr. will probably be missed. Skyy Moore probably will be as well and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Players that haven't changed teams (so they may not be in the books people bring or buy) also tend to get missed.
Man I appreciate tf outta the advice yall gave out. I wasn't sure if I should bring like a tablet/laptop or just print out sheets of rankings. Might just go with printing them out.
Someone told me not too get too faded either, since we having a BBQ before the draft. Lol
Do y’all have a go to fantasy Guru for advice?
I usually go with my gut but there’s only one person whose opinion I respect when I have to make difficult decisions.
No hyperbole. No fanboying over players based off name value. Only numbers and straight facts.
I found a lot of secret gems over the years and even with major injuries, I have never been below top 4 in any of my leagues.
We going see about that last part brother
I usually go with my gut but I like fantasy stock exchange sometimes.
All TDs are 6 points, including passing TDs
So, basically you should spend super heavy on Mahomes/Allen/Hurts/Burrow? Mahomes had 45 total touchdowns last year. That's good for 270 points right there.
I feel like this year I could talk myself out of each of the top 10 running backs and I am not sure if any of them excite me like some used to in the past.
1. McCaffrey - Injury concern and the fact that San Fran spreads the ball around a ton. He's also going to be very expensive in auction and I am not sure the last time the #1 RB ended the season as the #1 RB
2. Chubb - May actually have the least concerns with Hunt leaving town but he doesn't catch the ball as much as some of the other players and another year of Watson could hurt his season as I believe he performed worse when Watson was in there. But, if the passing game improves he may actually have a better season.
3. Ekeler - Not the best at running the ball and with another WR in the mix they may check down to him less.
4. Bijan - A rookie running back and not on the best offensive team. Their running backs performed pretty well last year and they like to run the ball a lot but if Ridder doesn't improve I wonder if it hurts his value
5. Henry - Injury concern. Has a lot of fu#king carries over the years. If Tannehill goes down again defenses will only need to stop Henry.
6. Taylor - Injury concern and he wants to be traded. I doubt he sits any weeks but if he does that hurts his value. Also, with Richardson being added he could steal carries and goal line carries.
7. Barkley - Injury concern but he was great last year.
8. Pollard - Finally, Zeke is gone but can he last an entire season as the feature back.
9. Jacobs - I am not sure he leads the league in rushing again and I am low on the Raiders offense as a whole
10. Stevenson - Trusting a New England running back tends to lead to a sh1tty season. But, he looked amazing last year when he was getting the most carries. And, Harris is gone.
I probably like McCaffrey > Chubb > Henry > Bijan > Barkley > Stevenson > Ekeler > Taylor > Pollard > Jacobs
In auction, I will probably target Henry, then Bijan, then Taylor, then Stevenson

Who is likely to go 1 this year? I don’t see any clear cut choice like most years. I had the first pick last year and took Jonathan Taylor and got fu#ked
Chubb should be a very safe pick. CMC is CMC.. I would very comfortably draft him. Saquon showed he’s back last year, would have no problem drafting him again. And I have a feeling Pollard will go off. Stevenson should be good again. The other ones have some slight concerns for me.. Bijan being a rookie and being picked extremely high, age questions with Ekeler and Henry. I’m not drafting Taylor or Jacobs.
You can’t predict injuries. Chase was injured last year, so was Kupp.
If I’m picking 1st I will probably go for Jefferson but you have to take into account which RBs will still be there at 24. Havent done a lot of mock drafts yet but so far I feel more comfortable with the WRs still being available in the 2nd round as my WR1 (AJ Brown, Amon-Ra, Wilson, Adams, Diggs maybe early 2nd). If I’m picking WR in round 1 I’m hoping Hall or Stevenson are available in r2. If they’re not I wouldn’t feel comfortable with my RB1 tbh, but that’s how I feel right now.
I’m in a QB heavy league. 1 pt every 10yds. 6pt tds. No PPR. Am I crazy for drafting Mahomes #1 overall??? Qbs can literally carry your team to the championship He has been on the roster of the last 3out of 4 winning teams.
Anyone have great advice for auction leagues? I’ll be doing my first one this year. $500 buy in split between 2 of us. $100 auction dollars.
This is my 3rd year doing an auction. $100 for the auction seems pretty low. I think $200 is standard. I am sure that just means the prices of things will be halved but I have never done $100.
I actually prefer auction to snake for nearly every draft from now on because you can decide how you want your team to shape out.
I tend to do the studs and duds approach to my auction. I want to leave with at least one top 3 player at their position which means I spend a lot of money early. I saw another article mention with auction you can get a draft you never could with snake.
I don't think auction value charts are realistic as some players go for a lot more or a lot less depending on the makeup of your draft. How many teams changes the value. Do the teams value WR over RB or QB over RB? However, you could do a draft like this (I am using the $200 value):
QB - Lawrence - $9
WR - Tyreek - $46
WR - Diggs - $38
RB - Javonte Williams - $14
RB - David Montgomery - $17
TE - Tyler Higbee - $3
Flex - DeVonta Smith - $21
That would leave you with $50 for the bench if you spend a dollar on defense and kicker.
Or, if you wanted to even it out with a better running backs and maybe an even cheaper QB you could go:
QB - Tua - $4
WR - Justin Jefferson - $49
WR - Garrett Wilson - $24
RB - Derrick Henry - $43
RB - Javonte Williams - $14
TE - Tyler Higbee - $3
Flex - Jerry Jeudy - $20
That would leave you with $41 for the bench if you spend a dollar on defense and kicker.
My roster has 6 bench spots. Generally, I try to spend $10 on almost two players that I think can start during byes and injuries. Then, I will spend $1 on a few dart throws.
Thank you for the advice. I should’ve mentioned this is an 8 team league
2 qbs
2 wrs
2rbs
2 flex
1 dst
1 kicker.
