We were just talking about this last week in the breakroom at work. Just get something decent and decent health, optical, and dental with a 401k. I lucked up on a nice union job a year before COVID hit. And from time to time, I do look at other jobs in my field on production/manufacturing just to see what they offer coming through the door. It isn't much different than what I have now, so I'm like I'm not going anywhere for a good while

this is all manipulation.

people have been quiet quitting since covid so they are doing everything they can to make jobs feel like something you should fight for again.

its too late. mfs know they only have 36-48 months left at whatever they doing. nobody cares anymore.

i would urge everyone to fix your credit and learn a trade and/or learn how to make money online with ai. with these things alone, you will save yourself and your family. how?

if your credit is good, you can buy a business, possibly in a field you know or a trade you've been trained in. if its something safe, you almost cant lose.

or you can start something. thats assuming more risk but if you're operating on debt, you limit your personal losses.

everybody needs to have a way to reliably pull in at least $5k/mo outside of your job and it's never been easier. i didnt say its easy. i said its never been easier. realistically you should be shooting way higher but at a base level, if you can get to that point, you gain confidence that you can save yourself when sh1t goes down. america is dying. you're going to lose your job and it's going to get bad for 90% of americans. put yourself on the other side by taking some baby steps now.

I got laid off after the company had a sh1tty 1st quarter. In hindsight if theres smoke, there’s fire. I wish I started looking for other job before my department got the ax.

I applied to about 200 jobs between frontline, mid level and director level positions for 3 months now. I’ve been thru 12 panel interviews, several up to 3 rounds, did 3 PowerPoint presentations and nothing!

What field are you in? I know a breh whose a janitor, working at wholefoods and in school. I told him I would ask around. He wants to skill up and travel as part of his gig.
I'm a surgical technologist/first assist. I was trained in the Navy 3 month program. Outside of the military the program is about 2 years

If he's cool with blood and guts he should look into it. Job doesn't involve travel per se' but you can choose travel jobs that will send you to hospitals around the country.

half the jobs n1ggas apply to don't exist

ghost jobs

companies advertise openings that are not really there.

Why? appearance of fairness , to comply with EEO, makes the company seem like it's growing.

and it's not even illegal

you prepare resumes, dress up, do interviews. whole time, they know it's an act.

the old saying is truly gospel, it's not what you know, it's who you know.

There's no point in leaving a job before you potentially get laid off; at least you get severance for a bit to cushion the blow some
Depends on the time. I wish I would have left jobs during the Obama and even first trump ter. More promotions and more money. Right now it's better to stay put unless you got some specialized skill then it may not even matter. Even backbduring the Obama administration companies were hiring, but firing like crazy. They eventually started firing without the hiring and that's where we are now.

This is why the customer employee experience is so sh1t now.. ppl don’t keep jobs because they are good at them they keep them because it requires almost no effort to keep them. Moving up and gaining new skills breeds competition and most aren’t interested in knowing then aren’t good enough.
For me it's more laziness than competition. Competition is every. Doing 10 hours then studying for an exam for another skill is hard wrk. I went to school and decided I didn't even want to get in that field.

I think the problem is that nobody is hiring externally. Any position posted is considered and locked up due to extensive talent planning. I think there should be a law that says you can’t post a job externally unless you have exhausted internal hiring pool. That would cut down on the wasted and misleading job applications out there.

The job market isn't as good as some people claim it is. I've been trying to break into the cyber security field for a minute and it's been hell trying to get a halfway decent job lined up. Thankfully I have a job that gives me consistent hours. Others aren't so lucky. They'll get auto rejected from jobs they're qualified for multiple times before getting an interview. You've gotta network like crazy nowadays

I'm happy for you and proud of you. But do you ever get concerned about layoffs in this job climate where companies are looking for an excuses to cut high paid/easy positions such as yours?

Btw, what career-field do you work in?

I thought this same thing once too and they laid off me and my entire department the next week. Seen it happen again at my next job for people I thought were indispensable.

Not trying to scare you or nothing though. I hope you continue to do your thing and wishing you many more years of success at where you're at.

I just really hope you have other things lined up just in case they pull the rug from up under you. These companies will blindside you in a minute. But you seem like an intelligent guy, so I'm probably preaching to the choir right now.
