People like catching these artists on the upswing where they in the studio trying sh1t that sounds amateurish because they are amateurs. There’s a distinct feel to the music even the same type of content that is different when guys have a professional, industry sound to their music.

Waka the first “amateur” n1gga who blew up mainstream. It was super wack at the time but it hit hard to his fans. Once he got the hang of how to actually rap and put together a song his music stopped resonating with his core fanbase. Got lost in the mix after that because he’s a forefather to drill that is built off of his standard production but with even more graphic lyrics and ignorance. Once he did a professional song with Drake he could never go back to his old self.
