When were you last treated by an NHS doctor out of interest
Alright, I ain't been treated by an American doctor, but I have heard untold horror stories from people off the net and the media
Not only that, you can get sick and lose your house and savings in the US, not in the UK
The American system spends more settling health related lawsuits than the UK spends on the whole NHS, and the so called leader of the free world can't provide universal healthcare
Keep telling me how trash the NHS is, I bet you're a fu#kin MAGAt...
The UK is trash.
If the God became a U.S. citizen, he'd still be here.
Alright kidder
You realise race is a social construct don't you? The physiological differences are next to none...
A very few diseases affect people of different racial backgrounds differently
I am completely speechless to find out the god died such a senseless death (via The Guardian)
Leeds hospital trust apologises after rapper MF Doom died in its care
London-born musician Dumile Daniel Thompson, 49, had a lack of oxygen to his brain after a reaction to a blood pressure drug.
An NHS trust has apologised for the substandard care given to MF Doom, an underground rap icon who died aged 49 while having hospital treatment.
The artist behind songs including Accordion and That’s That, whose real name was Dumile Daniel Thompson, died in October 2020 due to a lack of oxygen to his brain after a reaction to a drug prescribed for blood pressure.
The London-born rapper, one of hip-hop’s most distinctive MCs and producers, who was part of the American hip-hop duo Madvillain alongside Madlib, died at St James’s hospital in Leeds.
At an inquest into his death, the Leeds teaching hospitals NHS trust, which runs St James’s, acknowledged there had been “missed opportunities” during his treatment for angioedema, which is sudden swelling often caused by an allergic reaction.
Thompson’s throat, tongue and lips became swollen after he was prescribed medication to control his blood pressure, the Leeds Live website reported.
The musician, who had several medical conditions including kidney failure, type 2 diabetes, heart failure and hepatitis B, underwent kidney dialysis in Leeds in July 2020.
The inquest heard he had registered with a new GP in the city and doctors had been unable to access his previous medical notes because of concerns about data protection.
On 23 October 2020, Thompson had breathing problems after taking new medication and went to the A&E department at St James’s hospital where he was given adrenaline, steroids and oxygen.
His condition appeared to improve but then suddenly deteriorated and he collapsed. Thompson, who had six children, was put on a ventilator and died on 31 October.
The assistant coroner Janine Wolstenholme said a care plan drawn up in hospital was not sufficiently detailed and that doctors were given a “false reassurance” about the musician’s condition when his health appeared to improve.
She said that when Thompson suggested the swelling in his throat, tongue and lips were getting worse, this should have triggered a request for a review at the hospital, although it was not possible to say whether his collapse could have been avoided.
Wolstenholme described Thompson’s deterioration on 31 October 2020 as rapid and said it was a “rare event”. She said the reaction to the drug was rare but it was more common in smokers and people of African-Caribbean descent. Thompson was described as a moderate smoker.
The coroner said the trust accepted that doctors had not sought “specialist input” about the patient’s condition from an immunology expert.
She apologised to Thompson’s wife, Jasmine, who followed the inquest via video link from the US, for the time it had taken to bring the matter to the court.
Wolstenholme concluded the inquest with a narrative verdict that touched on a number of issues highlighted by Thompson’s wife and her legal team.
Afterwards, the Leeds teaching hospitals NHS trust issued an apology. Dr Hamish McLure, its chief medical officer, said: “I would like to offer our sincere condolences to Daniel’s family, friends and fans at this difficult time. I apologise that the care he received was not to the standard we would expect.
“Following his sad death we undertook a serious incident investigation and the report has been shared with Daniel’s family. As a result we have put in place a number of actions and the wider learning from what happened is to be used as a teaching topic in a number of different clinical specialities. We also support the coroner’s recommendation for clearer national guidance and awareness in this area.”

Universal health care is not feasible. It forces healthy people to pay for others medical care and I’m not doing that. Without financial incentive, people may not be as careful with their health. Meaning, if everyone had free health care, they would be reckless with themselves and not give a damn about the consequences because they’re not paying for it. Most universal health systems report a long wait times for elective procedures and btw, because of the plandemic, hospitals across the country are postponing elective procedures. In Canada, if it’s serious, patients come to America to get treated all the time!
Listen, American healthcare is not perfect. There is collusion going on between the pharmaceuticals and insurance and we don’t know what anything costs. But in A free market, it means I can look at the prices and I can make decisions as a consumer. A true free market health care system is the best. But that only works in a capitalistic country. Not a socialist one which I know that you’re. Markets is the only way that you get goods and products and services to people. All these developed countries with universal Medical system, which are really Canada, UK and the Norwegians have really, really high tax burdens to pay for it. I’m talking 50, 60, 70% taxes on top of a 18% sales tax. And what liberals dont get is that all those countries benefit primarily off of the free enterprise medical engine in America for medical advancements, for drug breakthroughs, for patents. Over 90% of consequential medical advancements stem from the USA. Name what those countries health system have down for medicine in the last 30 years? What you want is what Bernie Sanders is saying and that’s what those countries are doing which is to get rid of any private corporations and that would be a disaster. Total Nationalization is asinine. The UK has the NHS, there is hardly any entrepreneurial activity that happens in medicine there, like cancer treatment, diabetic medicine, open heart surgery’s. All these things that we have seen save peoples life are primarily happening in America, because there is some form of a profit in the USA. It’s not perfect because there isn’t a market that is and that’s why it is expensive and there is collusion between the insurance and hospitals. That’s not capitalism, that’s cronyism.
Propped by accident
What ‘race’ are you?
And not a single thing of value was lost
RIP man
Maaaaaan you cannot trust these meds!!! Seen do many people have reactions from them. If you wanna control blood pressure, you need to control inflammation, mental stress and make sure you hydrate. Also get enough potassium and magnesium.
