January 13th, 2017 Update:
Jamari Chisolm Texas will host another JUCO DT this weekend in NEO’s Jamari Chisolm… Chisholm has not yet been offered by Texas. It sounds like the coaches want to get him on campus first to size him up and then made a decision from there. I was told by a source on the Texas side that should they offer Chisholm they expect to land him.
I asked a friend over at NEO about Chisholm as a player and he said, “He’s strong and quick. Good hands and tough at the point of attack. Explains why he was the leading DL tackler”
Charleston Rambo Last night, Texas visited Sooners WR commit, Charleston Rambo. What we are hearing on Rambo is that he sees a big opportunity to come in and play early at Oklahoma. And for the most part he is solid to the Sooners. However, a source close to Rambo tells us that Texas was always a dream school for him. Also, lately his training circle has included guys like Lil Jordan Humphrey and Jerrod Heard who are very much in his ear about looking Texas’ direction. If all that is enough to get him to take a visit then anything can happen. If not, then obviously he will stick with the Sooners which is what we expect to happen at this point.
Omar Manning Spoke to a source close to 2017 WR Omar Manning. As you know, Manning recently visited Texas. Our source said very simply, “I think Manning ends up at Texas”.
It may be more of a gut feeling but it’s a gut feeling from someone very close to Manning. Folks on the Texas side are pushing hard for Omar.
Stephan Zabie The expected in-home visit with Zabie did not happen last night. I am told that Texas will visit Zabie at this school today.
Taquon Graham As you all know, Texas will host Taquon Graham this weekend. Going into this week the Sooners looked like a serious threat for Graham and may very well still be. However, in speaking to a source close to Graham it does sound like this one is very much trended back in Texas’ favor. It sounds like Graham’s family would prefer to see him at Texas.
Graham’s feelings on Texas and the new Texas staff will likely determine the outcome of his recruiting. So, I expect to know exactly where Texas stands in the next few days.
Trestan Ebner 2017 WR/DB, Trestan Ebner (Henderson, TX) tells us that he will officially visit Texas next week. Ebner says he has not yet received an offer from Texas but the staff has been regularly communicating with him.
