Its not valid bro not sure whats hard to get about this. Thats like Future rapping about codeine, lean, and Percocets. Then accepting money from an anti drug organization. Do you not see the hypocrisy in that? Y’all dont wanna see it for some reason but quick to do that to the other rapper
I'm not even talking about the battle, this battle has melted you drake stans's brains. just what you are saying doesn't go far in the logic test
If a fat person told you that eating healthy is something you should do, you wouldn't say "you're a hypocrite so what you just said is invalid" you would think about it for yourself and you would probably say. Yeah you are right but you're a hypocrite for not doing it
A person can say something that is valid while being a hypocrite for not doing what they say. I'm not here to tell you what Kendrick said is valid or not, you have your own opinion about it. My point is that it stands on its on regardless of who says it
I think the idea is that the mainstream is so sickening that majority of people would love a cleanse, so the genre can be refaced and brought back with more substance and less of what is pushed today.
There’s always been great artists, but they aren’t the ones pushed by the machine and THATS the problem.
I think people are happy with the underground, but also tired of the mainstream being damn near a parody of the genre at this point
but then yall gotta think. labels push out what the people want for the mainstream.
for example. majority of the people want that ratchet s3xy redd sh1t. while the minority want thought provoking music for women like che noir.
and with the age of the internet algorithms you don't need mainstream radio anymore.
Factual. I prefr actual rap, this why I think song goes hard. Very well put together.
I'm too fu#king lazy to hunt for good music, though. So I just put some lofi and call it a day.
as a aspiring music composer I try to listen to all kinds of music, I actually been wanting to start producing drum and bass, i listened to amon's tobin first album and that joint was fire.
but mainly i just listen to Griselda, TDE, Carti, Joey, etc etc.
This is a valid point. A person being a hypocrite doesn't make their point any less valid.
But I can see how this can be annoying. Kendrick for example LOVES to play the role of being a humble introvert that keeps to himself. Meanwhile, he regularly disses other rappers to generate buzz and wants to be at the top of throne. That is incompatible with who he himself claims to be.
Dude fu#king cosplayed as Jesus Christ being crucified.
This song was fire, my boy.
But yeah, I hate that n1ggas treat Kendrick like he's Malcolm X or some sh1t. The brother talks out of both sides of his mouth. His politically messaging are just safe takes that are pre-approved by white liberals. That's why he gets to have keys to the city, get Pulitzer prizes, etc.
Because his takes are surface-level deep, unproblematic to the status quo, and easily digestible.
Tell Kendrick to take a stand against gang violence in LA, and denounce bloods and crips as the degenerates that they are? They're one of the biggest cancers to our community.
He won't.
Tell Kendrick to say Free Palestine. (Nope)
He called us pocket watchers for pointing how little investment he's had in the black community. Nipsey (who I am also critical of) has invested more even.
NOTE:
fu#k DRAKE. He's been a$s for years, he lost th ebeef. I am NOT a drake stan.
That being said, this sh1t rides. If his album is full of tunes like this and not them weird a$s voices he's been doing lately, I'll fu#k with it.
EDIT:
He also regularly rubs shoulders with degenerates like Future. he also is very clever in threatening violence in his raps.
i disagree with "That is incompatible with who he himself claims to be."
i think it's incompatible with who he TRIES to be. one thing that he is getting continuously more honest about is his ego. he has a big one (pause)
"Some put it on the Devil when they fall short
I put it on my ego, lord of all lords
Sometimes I fall for her, dawg"
"Lord, my confession is yours, but who am i if i don't go to war?
There's opportunity when living with loss, I discover myself when I fall short"
i think kendrick is in constant battle with his ego and how it keeps him from the person he wants to be, but he looks to the lord for forgiveness when he falls short of those ideals
No sh1t he’s a hypocrite, WERE ALL HYPOCRITES, that’s the point. This is the message he conveyed through TPAB & Mr Morale. Either accept it or move on.
Saying in every thread he’s a hypocrite, he’s a hypocrite, he’s a hypocrite……does nothing
It’s called duality.
Why do yall act so obtuse.

He says all this but then hates on another rapper that does the same; who is very self aware and has introspective songs. Just so happens that other rapper can switch it up and do many different styles. Sounds like envy to me if we are being real and keepin it a stack
I'm not even talking about the battle, this battle has melted you drake stans's brains. just what you are saying doesn't go far in the logic test

Nah its not duality its self righteous. We are all hypocrites to an extent. But his is trying to punch up while wanting to be the guy at the same time. Who tf cosplays Christ with a Tiffany’s incrusted thorn crown. His hypocrisy is OD
well you're entitled to think this although i disagree. i think kendrick would say that you are giving drake too much credit in this post. that drake isnt self aware, rather the opposite. that he is a troubled human that is fake and isnt aware of who he is or or what he's become. kendrick and drake have never done the same thing, that's the divide. they've went in different directions as rappers and as people (in kendrick's eyes). sh1t marvin's room is the example of how they are different. and drake's influence with this in mind is the concern, but also just part of the bigger issue, the issue addressed in songs like we have here
further what he's done to hip hop which people have been echoing. what kendrick has been saying isnt anything new and many people have felt it and if you want to say it's all because of envy that's your right...i would disagree
You’re talking about something in addition to the hypocrisy & duality brother.
He has a god complex while trying to maintain grounded. It is self righteous but he’s not presenting an image of being above everyone else with no flaws.
This is the problem you and others are dealing with. He fully displays his arrogance, his greed, his self righteousness, his hypocrisies while simultaneously battling with these imperfections.
Savior:
“Like it when they pro-Black, but I'm more Kodak Black
Tell me where the monеy at, ayy, where the homiеs at?“
These Walls:
“If these walls could talk, they'd tell me to swim good
No boat, I float better than he would
No life jacket, I'm not the God of Nazareth
But your flood can be misunderstood
Walls telling me they full of pain, resentment
Need someone to live in them just to relieve tension
Me, I'm just a tenant
Landlord said these walls vacant more than a minute
These walls are vulnerable, exclamation
Interior pink, color coordinated
I interrogated every nook and cranny
I mean, it's still amazing, before they couldn't stand me
These walls want to cry tears
These walls happier when I'm here
These walls never could hold up
Every time I come around, demolition might crush“
How Much a Dollar Cost:
“How much a dollar really cost?
The question is detrimental, paralyzin' my thoughts
Parasites in my stomach keep me with a gut feeling, y'all
Gotta see how I'm chillin' once I park this luxury car
Hopping out feeling big as Mutombo
"20 on pump 6," dirty Marcellus called me Dumbo
Twenty years ago, can't forget
Now I can lend him a ear or two
How to stack these residuals tenfold
The liberal concept of what men'll do
"20 on 6," he didn't hear me
Indigenous African only spoke Zulu
My American tongue was leery
Walked out the gas station
A homeless man with a semi-tan complexion
Asked me for ten Rand, stressin' about dry land
Deep water, powder blue skies that crack open
A piece of crack that he wanted, I knew he was smokin'
He begged and pleaded
Asked me to feed him twice, I didn't believe it
Told him, "Beat it"
Contributin' money just for his pipe—I couldn't see it
He said, "My son, temptation is one thing that I've defeated
Listen to me, I want a single bill from you
Nothin' less, nothin' more"
I told him I ain't have it and closed my door
Tell me, how much a dollar cost?”
Mortal Man:
“Want you to love me like Nelson, want you to hug me like Nelson
I freed you from being a slave in your mind, you're very welcome
You tell me my song is more than a song, it's surely a blessing
But a prophet ain't a prophet 'til they ask you this question”
“You wanna love like Nelson, you wanna be like Nelson
You wanna walk in his shoes, but your peacemaking seldom“
“I hold grudges like bad judges, don't let me resent you
That's not Nelson-like—want you to love me like Nelson“
Loyalty:
“I'm a savage, I'm a a$$hole, I’m a king“
Pride:
Hell-raising, wheel-chasing, new worldly possessions
Flesh-making, spirit-breaking, which one would you lessen?
The better part, the human heart, you love ’em or dissect 'em
Happiness or flashiness? How do you serve the question?
See, in a perfect world, I would be perfect, world
I don't trust people enough beyond they surface, world
I don't love people enough to put my faith in man
I put my faith in these lyrics, hoping I make a band
I understand I ain't perfect, I probably won't come around“
Mother I Sober:
“Death threats, ego must die, but I let it purge“
“Where's my faith? Told you I was Christian, but just not today“
The hypocrite card is a just a way for people to say "I don't want to change" without saying it out loud. It irritates the fu#k out of me
Kendrick is not trying to change - he actually doesn't know what the fu#k he wants to do, and his narrative changes on a whim.
You n1ggas are just stupid, and you really haven't paid attention to everything he said and did.
No sh1t he’s a hypocrite, WERE ALL HYPOCRITES, that’s the point. This is the message he conveyed through TPAB & Mr Morale. Either accept it or move on.

Ok then he is simply just a fu#kin hater and hypocrite cause if he is this way then why the fu#k is he lambasting another artist that does the same?
His new song talkin about getting back the essence while HE LIVES IN GLUTTONY.y’all eat this hypocritical sh1t up. Kendrick is just projecting his behavior and inner thoughts on to others
I've been off this site for at least 18 days before this week.
I haven't been repeating anything, im actually going off what the dude said. You don't know sh1t about me, b.
I can admit when I'm being a hypocrite, but you d1ck eaters are choosing to follow someone who doesn't even know what they're doing, what they stand for, and is a literal puppet pushing all sorts of gay sh1t to the masses.
killer one day, activist the next, hateful Monday and humble Tuesday.
Shut the fu#k up
Drake makes very introspective music I can make a whole playlist of it. What they envy is reach and how he can go in and out of different pockets and genres. Also he makes the most money and favorable contracts eating off them. Thats why n1ggas hate lets be fr
I'm not talkin about the battle, I'm talkin about you, dummy.
