He gone eat in that offense
glad somebody bumped this thread. Ive been looking for it and couldnt find it.
I am. I would spend even more tbh maybe $14 but I haven't mocked yet.
I did pretty well last year but my current plan is:
One of $60-$65:
- McCaffrey
- Cook
One of $40-45:
- Swift
- Kamara
- Zeke
One of $25-30:
- JK Dobbins
- Connor
- Mitchell
At the top limits that's $140 of my $200 right there but our league gives points per carry and RBs are always a bi#ch to find. Then, I'd probably try to grab Robinson for $15 ($155), Russ for $15 ($170), and add Goedert/Knox for $5 ($175) and then probably add Hollywood Brown or some other risky WRs.
I think my ideal draft is McCaffrey, Swift, Dobbins, and Robinson.
And what QB's are you targeting in auction? I used to grab a QB early but now I spend my money on RBs.
My current targets:
- Russ ($15 or less)
- Hurts ($10 or less)
- Brady ($15 or less)
I'd consider a flyer on Lance, Trevor Lawrence, Fields, or Winston as well
Just did a mock a few hours ago and that seems like a solid plan. But you know how it goes come draft day somebody drops $98 on CMac, $77 on Cook and now you have to freestyle a game plan it has happened to me the last 2 years. I think you will get Cmac for that price though his stock still being as high as it is has me kind of wondering at this point...
And be careful bro injuries... Injuries with your list.
I get you on the someone dropping too much money on players. It's only the second year of auction for my league though so not everyone knows what they're doing so far.
Last year the highest salary player was Dalvin Cook at $70. After that, we had Kamara at $66 (that was me), Chubb at $67, Barkley at $61, Tyreek at $63, Zeke at $64, Taylor at $51, Kelce at $52, Diggs at $51.
I can't see the data on CMC or Henry because they were IR and dropped. Apparently Yahoo doesn't have that data.
Last year, I spent $66 on Kamara, $44 on Ekeler, $21 on Swift, $25 on Kupp, and $15 on Dak.
I will probably have a similar philosophy this year. Spend about $110 on two running backs and then try to grab middle of the road guys I think can break out (Allen Robinson, Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox, Goedert, Russ, Elijah Mitchell, JK Dobbins)
I like James Robinson, Chase Edmonds, Dameon Pierce, Rashod Bateman, Allen Lazard, Skyy Moore, Davante Parker, and Chris Olave for cheap as well.
I think Bateman is going to be a great WR2 similar to Hollywood last year

Oh ok, yeah if you know your league you can kind of set it up pre-draft. With my league we are like 4 years into auction, so alot of baiting and trolling goes on lol. If a league member knows your style they will skyrocket the price of said player, like some dudes are going to certain team automatically unless you drop a huge bag. D. Cook is my guy I'm thinking him and Barkley as #1/2 with like you said a Dobbins, Robinson or someone of those molds as my 3 and 4. Will probably cost me at least $115 and I'm using about $20 on my keepers so that leaves me with like $100 to spend to fill out my roster. Keepers will be QB (Hurts) and WR (Higgins).
I'm late on my studies, so I'm catching up now. But you should be good if guys are still learning strategies on auction. I would say make like 3 teams on paper and pick from those guys in case you have to overdid for one of the guys you really like.
Why Cook over CMC? Price?
Yea it’s free
There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return. If you were invited to take over an existing team, please click the link in the email you received to join the league. To create a brand new team, get the commissioner to increase the maximum number of teams, or remove teams that will not be returnin
If you draft Cook you better make sure to get Mattison even if that means overpaying. Take it from a Cook owner but not a Mattison owner last year. Muhfu#ka that had Mattison was tryna shake me down all season long. Won the league in the end though but that Cook sh1t was not pleasant
Mostly and CMC needs to play a full season man. I know Cook is risky too but he is in my division so I see him more, which probably creates a bias.
im getting an error message
g.
I think the thing for me and why I am leaning towards CMC is because there is no one else in the backfield there. I like Cook and could see him being a top 5 back but with Mattison there (and even Jefferson), I think he is limited from being the top overall back.
The cost could be a bit higher but say Cook goes for $60 if CMC goes for $65-70 and I think he can be the #1 overall back I am willing to pay that extra for him.
Personally, my backs possible for the #1 overall are: CMC, Cook, Henry, Kamara, Najee, and Swift.
My reasons for:
- CMC: He's the only back there and fu#king electric when he has the ball. He's the offense in Carolina and I think Baker is a step up compared to Darnold. He was averaging 20+ PPG last year when he was playing.
- Cook: He can do it all and they have probably the best offense of the guys I listed above. With that offense if they use him in the red zone he could make it to #1 overall.
- Henry: If they give him 300+ carries again he is definitely a top 3 back and while the offense probably takes a step back he is their entire offense.
- Kamara: He was a much better back when Winston was on the field last year averaging ~15.5 PPG. I believe he wasn't on the field much week 2 either which skews the numbers down a bit. If MT comes back healthy and Olave has a good rookie year, Kamara could fight for the #1 spot.
- Najee: This one is dependent on Trubisky not being complete sh1t but I think they will give him plenty of carries again. Probably the one I trust the least to be the #1 overall back.
- Swift: This one is probably tough too because I don't trust the Lions offense but he gets plenty of receptions as well. He can be the #1 overall back if the Lions actually rely on him instead of putting in Jamaal Williams (when healthy) in for like a quarter like they did last year.
