I got laid off after the company had a sh1tty 1st quarter. In hindsight if theres smoke, there’s fire. I wish I started looking for other job before my department got the ax.
I applied to about 200 jobs between frontline, mid level and director level positions for 3 months now. I’ve been thru 12 panel interviews, several up to 3 rounds, did 3 PowerPoint presentations and nothing!
I don't HATE my current emoplyer but I am looking for something new.
The pay is decent but I do want to get more but the freedom of full remote work tho...I do have a potential prospect if I do decide to get back on the application grind but I'm not in a rush.

Old head perspective
This is something that was told to me by my parents when I got my first job at 14 years old.
"Never leave a job until you have another one to go to."
We understood that phrase meant, you don't go anywhere until you're hired at the next gig. Not called backed, not interviewed, but hired.
I've seen cats leave a job just because they got an interview somewhere else. And while 90% of the time it worked out, it was still an unnecessary risk if the company decided to go with someone else.
I had a job that I hated with a passion, but I didn't leave that bi#ch until I could walk into another one with no break in pay.
Also wait to be fired and don't just leave. In most cases you can get unemployment if let go. Simply leaving will get you nothing.
sh1t aint like it used to be. A lot of cutbacks. Less pay, less benefits and less security. I've seen jobs that don't even offer medical insurance anymore. Combine that with competitive applicants. Youd be surprised at how many people are at a hectic job they hate because they really don't have a choice.
But if you do decide to leave for sure, DO NOT QUIT. Get the other job first. Make sure all paperwork is signed. Then resign from the other. I've seen sooo many people make this mistake. Quit their job with nothing lined up. Thinking theyre gonna bounce back quick. Those days are pretty much over. Unless you are in a high demand, specialty job with limited competition.
I’m bout to start AI course, cleaned up my credit up high 700s….bout to pivot into starting up a business next
Yep!
I get new notifications every day for new openings in my field. The pay is great for travel positions and are starting at $1700-$2500 a week after taxes.
The issue is that I make that now if we're looking at the low end of $1700 weekly. With my experience I would easily be at the $2500 weekly pay range. But what comes into play is the fact that I'd actually have to bust my a$s at the new job.
My current gig is M-F, no weekends, holidays, or call and nobody can tell me how to do my job because I'm the only one that does it.
More money is always cool, but it may not be always worth it.
haven't switched jobs in 3 years, working from home is too good I can't go back
idc what new jobs offer if it's not fully wfh I'm not interested - my one homie kept trying to get me to work for the DC gov cause their position paid even more than my current gig [like 20 gs a year more]
I backed out in the end cause I can't go back to commuting
