Their food fell the fu#k off and most buffets have never fully recovered after covid.
Sadly makes sense.
My business guess *puts on stoner thinking cap*
Golden corral food supplier likely has a
mass supply of “buffet” food.
(Beef, chicken, different types of pork, potatoes, string beans, fruits, veggies, desert foods such as brownies and cake, etc.)
The supplier likely struck a deal with golden corral executives
“We will sell you all these foods at Pennies on the dollar, if you purchase our food in bulk to your hundreds of Golden corral locations.”
As a current restaurant employee myself (since spring 2016)
the past 9 years has shown to me that even a mom n pop local restaurant can make six figs to 1-2 mil per year in sales…
…off of sandwiches in the $10-$20 price range.
Much more difficult to make any profit at a buffet restaurant.
Restaurant monthly bills gotta get paid. Employees gotta get paid. The food and products supplier has to get paid.
Minimum wage employees likely also saying: “we don’t give a.f if you take home 5 plates of food for the $20 all you can eat price.”
“F*ck we look like. The police??”
