I dated this single mother who lived with her conservative carribean parents who would talk bad about American men like myself as if her baby father wasn’t a convicted ped0phile with 5 baby mothers, but he was a carribean man

emoji
i used to think to myself Black American are the problem though
Growing up my Haitian and Jamaican homie moms both told them not to hang out with me because I was Black American and would be involved in gangs and crime and a bad influence. Both parents failed to notice their sons affinity for blue and the fact they wore blue beads and blue rags from their pockets at all times and I wasn’t a gangmember….
They would joke and be like oh we can’t fu#k with you, you a bad influence on us.

Fast forward and they have been career criminals.

why they mad though?
cuz they want him to be accepted by "western" (mayo) society and play his role. Not express his cultural heritage openly.. especially with his hair. Most Black immigrants of the diaspora think like this right or wrong.

Locs stand for something… rebellion, natural man, covenant with the spirit because it’s a journey growing your hair and seeing how people look at you when they see it… hair is wisdom locs are representative of that. Yes it’s been adopted by drill rappers and some people doing bad things but the locs represent righteousness and the sacred herb is to get deep meditation

Because they try to separate themselves from black Americans.

I’ve had countless friends from the Caribbean tell me how their parents told them to stay away from black Americans.

So true...that conditioning & programming of those colonizers have done a number on black folks and islanders. I don't concern myself with other ethnicities when those of my demographic are in need of a spiritual & psychological cleansing to break down that brainwashing bullsh1t

Yes. Haitian parents don't like long hair
Caribbean parents in general. What most people don’t realize is outside of rastafarians, most families from the islands are strict Seventh day adventists. This means no piercings, tattoos, no long hair, etc.

My parents roasted me for years when i got my ear pierced. I literally hear it every time i have a new piercing or tat and I’m in my 30’s now living on my own lol. I’m over 50 tats deep, a nose ring, 3 ear piercings, and locs coming down past my chest. I’m always catching side comments every family function lol. They’ll even be holding my daughter and talking sh1t about me lmao

I know successful people who listen to hiphop and have tattoos and different hairstyles.

Yeah now… that sht was hella frowned upon back in the day. Everybody and their cousin has tattoos and listens to hip hop now. Back in the day, it was usually only criminals and drug users that had a bunch of tattoos. That’s why it got stereotyped for a long time.

The fu#ked up part is that the Haitian parents are losing their minds because the son looks more African American now….

Race>>>>>culture…. (African diaspora United)
or else the others will continue to divide & conquer
Y’all n1ggas love playing victims so much.
The conservatives parents just don’t want their kids looking like a gangbanging type of n1gga.

They’re from the school of thought of go to school do well and get respected job.
Nothing to do with hating FBAs more like hating gangbanging FBAs
