Seriously tho, gotta give the Longhorns their props for doing the home and home like quality programs do. Good for the fans and cfb.

Yeah we aren't afraid to do a home and home series against quality programs like Alabama is. They always want to do neutral sites "Georgia dome" where they have home field advantage

The home and home is good for both teams...win and we got another quality win...lose and it's still early enough to bounce back

Hell naw, just talkin sh*t...I'm sold that he's better than what we have been putting out there at qb, but that's not sayin much...he's got the tools tho...just needs to put everything together. And like you said get less predictable...some of that may have been play callin tho.

Expect incoming 4 star freshmen QB Sam Ehlinger to compete for the starting job in the spring. If I'm correct Ehlinger has a stronger arm than Buechele.

I've got an update for yall.

Gary Johnson: As most know, Texas offered Dodge City CC (KS) LB Gary Johnson last week. When I posted my first update on him I hadn’t been able to speak with anyone outside of Johnson on how his recruitment is looking. That changed over the weekend, and it sounds like Texas is sitting in a good spot as of right now. One person even went on to say they’d be “shocked if he doesn’t go to Texas”. Though that person added things can always change once the visits happen. The consensus seems to be that Texas needs him in their class more than most of the other schools he’s considering, and that usually helps when you’re recruiting a JUCO guy as they look to see the field right away.

Johnson took his first official visit to Louisville. He has three others planned, Oregon on 1/13, Texas on 1/20, and USC on 1/27. I was told a school Johnson thinks very highly of is USC, which could make things interesting as the Trojans have the last visit. Johnson won’t be able to enroll early at a school in January, so he will be a summer enrollee most likely. The one school that could use an advantage to get Johnson in early is Oregon. They’re on a quarters system. So if he graduates early enough, he could enroll at Oregon in March. I’m not sure if that will play a factor in his recruitment, but it is noteworthy.

I was told Todd Orlando is personally recruiting Johnson very hard. Texas seems to have themselves positioned in a nice spot so far after getting in the game with Johnson so late.

Johnson is a four star juco linebacker from the state of Alabama

All these big country Alabama n1ggas can hit lmao. Orlando has an aggressive 3-4 multiple defense so Johnson would be the perfect fit.

MAJOR UPDATE

January 12th Update: The dead period ended today

Scheduled Visits:

January 13: Derek Kersetter, Gary Johnson, Taquon Graham, Marqez Bimage, Kobe Boyce, Chevin Calloway, Grant Polley (Buff commit), Larrell Murchison (Ol Miss commit), some list Chase Rogers but others say no

January 19: Ryan Johnson (DE from Alabama)

January 20: Daniel Young, Javelin Guidry, Trestan Ebner, Damion Miller, K’Lavon Chaisson, Amik Robertson, Josh Thompson, Montrell Estell, Jordan Pouncey (Fla - former ND commit)

Jan 27 Bryan Jones (from Roach's HS in LA)

edit - moved Johnson

Other News: Rumblings out there we have a shot at flipping Derrick Tucker (aggy commit)

Gary Johnson Update: Highly rated JUCO linebacker Gary Johnson is bringing his mother to Austin this weekend

Individual Player Updates:

Chevin Calloway: He says he’s down to Arkansas, Texas, and Ole Miss but this is really a Longhorns-Razorbacks battle in my mind. He’s originally from Arkansas and has lots of family in the state so they will be hard to fend off. Though I will say that Arkansas had a huge lead when Tom Herman was hired, but that lead has shrunk over the last few weeks. I still feel that Arkansas leads but Texas will have a shot to put a big dent in that this weekend.

Grant Polley: After missing on OT targets in Walker Little and Chuck Filiaga, Colorado OT commit Grant Polley has become a top priority for Texas OL coach Derek Warehime. Texas is the only threat to Colorado to flip the Denton (TX) OT, and with some of the other Colorado commits from Texas wavering in their commitments, that can’t hurt the Longhorns with Polley as they will have their chance to wow him this weekend.

Larrell Murchison A guy nobody has really been talking about in Louisburg College (NC) JUCO DT Larrell Murchison. He was offered by Ole Miss last week and committed the next day, and the Rebels are his only current offer. Though he did tell me other than the Texas visit this weekend, he will visit Houston next weekend, and Ole Miss on the weekend before NSD. So it sounds like the staff was recruiting him when they were at UH. As I had in my class breakdown post earlier this week, Texas will most likely take either, 0 or 1 DT in 2017.

Taquon Graham Even though he’s committed to Texas, this could be the biggest official visitor for Tom Herman and company as Oklahoma and TCU are pushing very hard for him and he plans to visit both schools later this month. This will also be the first time Graham and his mother will have face to face time with HC Tom Herman. Expect to see Graham’s close friend and HS teammate WR Davion Curtis host him during the visit.

Coaches Hitting The Trail

Jason Washington & Oscar Giles CB's/DL: Visitied the Moore brothers at 9AM

Derek Warehime OL: went to see Cade Brewer and OL Brenden Jaimes. In-home with OL Stephan Zabie (Westlake) later

Todd Orlando DC: In-home with Gary Johnson tonight

Drew Mehringer WR's To see TCU commit Omar Manning

Craig Naivar Safeties: To see 2018 S Cam Jones (Euless Trinity)- offer likely

ACE recruiter RB coach Stan Drayton

Lorenzo Lingard 5 Star FL running back Drayton offered Lingard on Wednesday
