Depends on who you are as an artist. There are rappers out there that will never attempt the commercial route. While there are others that do nothin but chase that sound.

But at the end of the day, it's still a culture because you have underground rappers like a Boldy James, Starlito, Don Trip and I can keep going......that make a good living by staying true to what they see as being "culture"

We're a dying breed my dawg. This era could care less about who writes their own rhymes, as long as they can vibe to it.

Our era took pride in writing their own sh1t because they had a story to tell. Rappers these days aren't tryin to sell you their story, they're just tryin to sell you a vibe

This website has a bunch of Joe Budden stans and even he realized he wasn't going to make money in that lane and pivoted to podcasting. He makes far more now talking about rap than when he was actually rapping. He might start streaming next just wait and see.

In a different era n1ggas use to grow up and look at hiphop as a sport.. Live an breath it, Perfect there own style.. Striving to be one of the best to ever do it. Different times were living in.. He not out here calling himself one of the best doing it, or out here doing so, so It's hard to knock him personally..


For the younger cats tho.. When you see older heads, or passionate hiphop fans Put Certain artists on a pedestal these are the type of things we take in consideration. It's no hate for alot of us, we just judge on a different scale.

Biggest plant of the decade. They forced this dude so heavy on people. Every mix or radio I use to make on Spotify this dude weak a$s redundant songs would always find their way into it.

Even then I wasn't fu#king with it, him being Milli Vanilla with a good rap voice just cements it.
