They clearly promised this midget to take his music to places he's never seen... This is the deal where the label had to prove what they could do for him... I remember Joe Budden talked about this sh1t... This deal was signed under Kendrick and not PGLang... He signed another deal right before his album dropped after certain goals were fulfilled... Bro is a bi#ch and people blame Drake for suing these dirty mfs
You’re late. They been did that he turned it down. “TPABF”. Drake took it, sold his soul, and did everything he’s accusing the label on bc he benefited from it. Now that the actual pen won, he thinks they did something.

Dot was “losing” according to y’all until Euphoria dropped remember? Dot just dropped the better music and y’all’s bots lost so it must mean the fans for him ain’t real because drakes has never been. Go to sleep, touch some grass, enjoy life.

Everyone knew dots deal was done. He took the shorts to get ownership. Drake took the 400 mil and sold his rights. Now he’s mad. He’s an only child that’s mad his parents had enough of his sh1t.

We gave you everything and you still ain’t happy because you’re not what we hyped you to be.

Drake started the ownership sh1t, they said we won’t help you, he ran out of writers

Dot went ownership and dropped 2 of the biggest albums of the century. Y’all said it flopped. Not the numbers. He proceeded to go on the biggest tour ever at the time only to defeat himself. Drake a bi#ch. Get overnit

No dumb ass... The first contract was for the label to show Kendrick what they could do for him with those diss tracks in order to sign PGLang to Interscope... So after they pushed NLU and got all these other corporations involved to get "the win" Midget signed PGLang to the label right before he dropped GNX... But don't worry... We'll soon find out what was promised to this fake activist
It’s a licensing deal buddy

Why is UMG Recordings hesitant to provide Drake’s legal team with the unredacted version of Kendrick Lamar’s recording contract?
For the same reason Drake doesn’t show his record contracts.

Family today. Like that.

It was never close to me. So there’s no “you mfs” there. Nearly the whole Mr morale. Your boy took it all personal.

Why was Drake mad at Keem? Why he use them Keem songs then try and say keem was writing for dot?

Then we find out dot was writing Keem sh1t? I wouldn’t be surprised dot wrote the sh1t that Keem gave Drake.

Back on topic. Dude lost and wakes up every morning thinking about what dot said.

Ngl it would be fun to do. Imagine having so many alts you swing the slap ratio and convince people the whole forum buys into some bizarre idea like Memphis Bleek was the best rapper on Rocafella

You got it wrong .

Kendrick is an independent artist … any song or project is going to require a new licensing agreement .

All his diss records were Kendrick Lamar’s business …

GNX is a pg lang project

Winning Grammys off a diss track should’ve been the giveaway.

UMG won’t show Kendrick’s deal, but it probably pushed him toward Drake. Doesn’t matter—Drake took the bait and lost. He assumed Kendrick wasn’t ready, even though Like That spelled it out.

Drake’s issue? Surrounded by yes-men. Wasted ammo on IG, went at character and family when Kendrick’s image is bulletproof.

He leaned in on the underage angle out of panic. Same with the cukk/abuser rumors—no proof, no need. He folded before the fight was over.

Am I the only one that thinks Kendrick made a critical
Mistake not including “not like us” on his album. That song alone would’ve added 2 million sales or more to his album sales total from streaming alone

Both UMG and Drake's legal team promised to keep that information out of the public eye... They're not interested in how much money he got... They want to see what the company policies are aka does one artist have the right to defame another artist on their label and if the label could've prevented him from doing that... They're not interested in Midget's money... Before this beef he wasn't even a bigger artist than Travis or Future...
so drake fans are on the side of censorship? ...you want the record company to dictate what an artist can or cannot say

this suit lets you know that hip hop is dead lol ...corniest sh1t ever

What breaks my heart about Kendrick winning is how he hates hip hop compared to his peers. Drake and J Cole love rapping, they’re always releasing features and feeding their fans. They put on underrated artists.

Unlike The Game, who helped put him and TDE on, Kendrick doesn’t support other West Coast artists. He bit Drakeo on NLU but never gave him a feature when The Ruler was alive. He finally gave some guys some shine on his last album, which definitely wasn’t to make a point post beef.

Aside from that he did a song with SOB x RBE, and put on his garbage, p1ss juice cousin (who he carefully hid away during the beef), he’s hardly worked with west coast artists in the second half of his career. Frankly the west coast is in a worse position than it was in 2012, and he’s a large part of the reason why.

And when he does release music it’s a chore to listen to. Since Section 80 he he’s progressively had a larger and larger pole up his ass. He can’t sit down and make fun music, no, it has to be boring and pretentious. Unlike Nas and Pac, who are clearly his inspirations, he doesn’t know how to have fun or stop preaching to audiences.

He’s replaced hip hop’s fun and passion with boring critic bait so people can say, “oh Kendrick makes such powerful music.”

The deal you’re referring to didn’t come with a boost or marketing package. We know this because Vogue sued Drake and 21 for spoofing their cover, and not UMG because they had no hand in it.

So no, Drake did not benefit from this same push they’re giving Kendrick Lamar.

OVODocket Opinion: Why is UMG Recordings hesitant to provide Drake’s legal team with the unredacted version of Kendrick Lamar’s recording contract? Two things.

1. We believe it’s because Interscope Records was irresponsible enough to place certain stipulations in Kendrick Lamar’s contract that not only incentivized him to engage in the rap battle with Drake but would also reward him following the rap battle.

2. We believe Kendrick Lamar’s contract contains language that proves Drake’s legal team’s allegation that UMG has the authority to alter/edit/remove Kendrick Lamar’s music and related works. Thereby, UMG was fully capable of stopping the defamatory statements in “Not Like Us” from being published and promoted, which they failed to do.

Per legal filings, an additional contract agreement between Interscope Records and Kendrick Lamar was executed on April 27 2024.
[see photo]

So this Midget mf made sure that the label would help him before he dropped those diss tracks wanting certain guarantees... And you mfs call Drake a bi#ch

This mf a whole fraud... But it doesn't matter coz Drake is a light skin Canadian

“Lemme hear you say Mustaaaard!!!”

They already do. Listen to any popular rap from the 90s to 2010. It’s filled with label sanctioned censorship. This is a regular practice. There’s language artists won’t even say now because it’s been censored so much, so it’s had an impact on the art as well.

You’re making this a cultural argument, but all you’re doing is revealing that you’re fine picking and choosing based on personal bias.

But he is …

He retains all the rights to his masters and licenses it out

He supported his own tour…

I don’t know how else you define an independent artist.
