In your eyes did you remove the label because his team kept winning trophies or did he stop because his talent/skill level increased and his style of play changed? I ask because I don't believe his skill and talent level increased or his game changed. He just got wiser and stronger mentally on the field. It's hard for me to change the description based on team awards and success.
The system changed several times...skill players came and went...he went from gettin carried by a defense to carrying the entire team and winning several rings due to it...

I HATED Brady...but once I finally came to terms with his legacy in real time...its not really hard to see

Yeah that just sounds like some Jordan Peterson word salad tbh. Tom Brady is elite at reading defenses, has elite accuracy, elite pocket presence and an above average arm. You don't have to run a 4.4 to be a game changer.

Again, name ONE other "game manager" qb who was tasked with sitting in 5 wide and dissecting defenses, to the point even their best WRs became expendable.
Throwing check downs in 5 wide means you aren’t a game manager?

I think we just have different definitions of game managers. Alex Smith is a game manager. No matter how he played - his ceiling was low and his floor was high. He wasn't going to win you a game but he could hold on to the W if an elite defense supported him. Tom Brady goes down and wins the fkng game every time there was an opportunity to do so.

Being a "gun slinger" is not the anti-thesis of a game manager. Jay Cutler was a gun slinger ... so was Rex Grossman. Aaron Rodgers is more physically gifted than Tom, he just wasn't as precise when the lights got bright. Game managers don't STEP UP AND DOMINATE every time the lights get bright. Thats what superstars do.

Tom Brady is the furthest thing from a game manager.
Brady didn't dominate every time the lights got bright. But most times he did enough to get the job done and that's all you can ask for. All the physically gifted guys you named didn't win for a reason. There is a reason Rodgers and Favre only have one each and haven't had a lot of chances at it. You named Alex Smith but even he had some really good playoff games in his career. Well that mufu#ka only had 7 of them. I'm not sure he ever had rosters as good as Tom did in those 7 games. I'd have to go search it up. I know his best WR in SF was sorry a$s Crabtree and his best wideout in KC was young Tyreek Hill. Talent around you plays a huge part in success in the NFL.

Again, the term isn't a negative term. Some people just choose to make it a bad one. There are levels to game managers. Just like there are levels/tiers to everything. Listen to Brady talk about himself and he calls himself a game manager. Listen to him call games and he calls good QBs game managers and gets upset at those who don't play the game with a high IQ. It's not a negative thing.

Warren Sapp is an idiot. Implying that Troy was a game manager is a complete disservice. Troy Aikman won a SB MVP. He's always bringing up who had more TD passes when talking about Brad Johnson and Troy Aikman. Johnson had more TD passes than Roger Staubach and Bart Starr too. Were those guys game managers? fu#k no. Johnson has a whole 1 more TD pass than Aikman and played 3 more years than Aikman. The dude acts like he has 20 or 30 more TD pass.

Aikman played in a controlled run first offense in an era where throwing TD passes were not at a high volume. If you threw for 30 TD passes in a season that was very impressive but that wasn't the design of the Cowboy offense. Sapp has such a hatred and jealousy of the 90s Cowboys. Always bad mouthing Emmitt, Michael and Troy. Meanwhile Sapp played with Ronde Barber, Derrick Brooks, John Lynch, and Simeon Rice, and Hardy Nickerson. Yeah Sapp you definitely weren't playing with a full stack on defense lol.
Troy was game manager. Everyone who watched in those days called him that. The term isn't a negative one. Troy was a very accurate level headed QB in a perfect system. He was never needed to throw for 300-350 yds and 4 or 5 tds for them to win. His job was to take throws when the defense gave it to him and ride Emmitt til the wheels fall off then let that defense do their job. He did that well and will always go down as one of most accurate QBs in history. Same for guys like Terry Bradshaw and those you named.

It doesn't take away from the way they managed the game

Tom Brady threw one touchdown during the entire 2001 playoffs. They won the Super Bowl. Nobody was prepping for tom brady until after the 2nd super bowl.

Then there was 14 more years of his career after that lol
Not many QBs enter the league dominating. You learn how to become an NFL QB.
The counter that look at the falcons vs patriots superbowl. Greatest come back in Super Bowl history. You don’t do that with a game manager.

People are just calling pocket QBs game managers now. Brady was dropping 40 TD seasons with Julian Edelman as his #1 WR.

Brady was easily a game changer.

He was the purest form of game manager - elite like mentioned and it’s not a slight, you could see what he could do once he got weapons like moss and gronk.

2002 brady had 1 rushing td and 1 passing td through out the entirety of the playoffs. They won the super bowl again.

James White should’ve won mvp in the falcons Super Bowl.. 140 total yards, 3 tds, 14 receptions (sb record), and game winning touchdown

Narratives are a thing.

In the sport of football no one carries anyone. Save that talk for basketball or some other sh1t. You can downplay the guys all you want but he had good receivers and great tight ends. They always had good offensive lines and good running backs. Those guys had the talent to get open against hall of fame defenders or else he wouldn't have had anyone to throw to. Again, you guys have to get out your mind that a title of game manager is a bad thing first. Then you can have a logical discussion on this.
