Alien: Earth (Fx 8PM EST Tonight) - page 2

Lol... Without even watching it, I can peep how many people on the first page actually came back to give their rating.
They asking a lot out of the audience on the "suspension of belief". My biggest issue so far with the first episode is that wetland knew the ship was crashing and didn't have a response team on the ground to contain and make first contact
My biggest issue with all of these stories has always been, everyone is so smart until you need them to be stupid to move the story along
The production quality is pretty high which is a plus, and they nailed down the suspense and horror aspect. The audience always knows the worst is coming, yet the characters don't
The hybrid addition to the story is pretty cool and should have been added to the "alien" universal story a long long time ago.
One last thing, the fact that this franchise can't move away from the dark haired yt woman protagonist is starting to get sorta stale
Alien (1/2/3)
Prometheus
Romulus
Covenant
Resurrection
I fully agree with you about the dark hair Whitegirl thing they always do.
But
I was Very impressed by this show so far
I didn't expect EP.2 to get so Bloody
But
We gotta our ROBOT MATH one more gin.
Help me out too..
Human + Robot Parts = Cyborg
All metal Robot = Android
Robot wit Human skin = ??????
(Synthetic) I think ?
The Sick Kids that got Robot Bodies = ?
Robot Cops ?????
Ghost in the Shells ????
That eyeball fu#king thing christ
Syths with humans brains = hybrids
The sick kids are hybrid with the minds of 11 yr olds, sent into a disaster site with unknown threats ( sorta stupid, even if the boy genius is supposed to be evil/ambivalent)
Why didn't the marines/security force have cameras and tracking capabilities if this is in the future?
I went to reddit to see how others are responding to the first two episodes so far
And a lot of people have the same gripes as me
One that stood out:
Someone said
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"this does not feel like it was written with the intent of alien, it feels like it was written as something else and then had the alien lore inserted into it in order to bring it to production"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of it feels contrived, and the "lost boys" seem to pull people out of the suspense of the show.
I had had to guess, they take all the different alien breeds back to the island, they run amok, and then the island is destroyed by weyland in a nuclear accident trigger from within by the black cyborg who sneaks into contain the threats, and cover up all evidence of weyland involvement . Which brings us back to sq one with the first alien movie
What I don't like is how they have a cyborg on the ship that captures the alien, but you never see one ever again , not even when they send the marines to lv-246 in "aliens"
Like I said it feels like it was something different they decided to include xenos in at the last minute for marketing and audience support.
The only saving grace is that the xenos seems as deadly as it's ever been, it reminds me of the intensity of the xenos from covenant. But some of the kills it had done seems a lil too quick and fantastical ( one xeno kills 5 guys with rifles in seconds)
What are the two timelines?? Seems like One

Havent checked Reddit. But agree in hindsight the writing is atrocious as it relates to real world disaster response decision making. Weyland not tracking the ship….. ehhh they were snd they tried to explain the company’s taking over fiefdoms thing. I think it still falls flat explanation wise but its clear Weyland just cant come to dudes territory.
Sending kid synths in without real life adult experiences is stupid. But its a show… also the ending was predictable.
So do they set a perimeter in the building?! I surmise that xeno is a sterile drone. And will be “hunted” for a couple episodes in that big plot location as such.
Ngl the kids annoy me. But im sure they catch up soon

Do I need to see Covenant and Romulus before starting this? The last Alien movie I saw was Prometheus.
