I thought he was brazen doing this track but he wasnt wrong for any parts of it. a clear shot to Kanye... and during that time Kanye was everything he was talking about in that song.

Notice Ye never responded to Cole the way he went at drake. its all out of respect and him respecting his (Cole) craft.

Cole is a perfect mix of Kendrick and Drake. He can touch on social issues and put it together like kendrick while still hoping on the trending feature like drake.

its why Cole can be mentioned among Kendrick and Drake cause hes low-key better than both.

This post is very accurate. only thing I dont agree with you saying is he's a "nice" rapper. J Cole is top 3 in todays hiphop industry when we talk all around. its been him, kendrick and drake for the past decade now. They're what id call top tier artist of this generation.

but youre point on about him not having that appeal in the hood. J Cole never made trap music. trap music and mudra music (NBA YB) is the type of music you gonna hear in the hood. you gotta be a certain type of n1gga, with a certain intellect to connect with Cole's music.

I remember my sophomore year of college, I was listening to alot of trap/drill music. I knew the name J Cole but I always thought he was overrated to me. I had a buddy I'd do sound engineering for and he tried to put me on to Cole and I remember telling him it was "meh". lol, this guy went all out to persuade me otherwise. I wasnt persuaded and still wasnt fw Coles music. then 2013 came around and I had another friend who actually bought a "Born Sinner" CD. Me and that guy would chill, work on music, blaze etc... and every time we went out, he'd have that CD or French Montana CD playin. I became somewhat a fan but not really a fan like that. Then 2014 came around and 2014FDH caught me and made me a real fan of Cole. That album is damn near perfect.

You gotta really listen to music for meaning to appreciate Cole's work.

J. Cole isn't trash, but he isnt that good. He's B grade artist, and he is third when compared to Drake and Kendrick


You can't even compare Kendrick, or J. Cole to Drake, because he dominated with albums, features, and loose songs here and there. They literally stat padded their entire career - J. Cole with his bullsh1t gimmick where he does a surprise drop and disappears and Kendrick by not dropping a album in forever.

I'm not crazy, they'll all sell, but that's off of their name and unannounced albums. I get it, but they are nothing close to Drake and I don't even listen to Drake that much. It's like comparing a n1gga to someone who had a great season to someone who had a couple of great games. None of them are good enough to stay in the game and make constant hits the way Drake did.

If J. Cole tried to emulate what Drake, or what Wayne did by constantly dropping music, then you would finally realize how redundant and average his music really is. The truth is that J. Cole will drop a album, and it'll be spoken about for 3 days to a week, and it'll all be forgotten about just like every other rapper.

Now we got NBA Youngboy who ain't half the rapper any of them are putting the game in a chokehold. Kendrick doesn’t want to lose his manufactured 'mystique', so he much rather wait until a 'perfect moment',, drop his album, then pay millions in promotion to call him a 'Goat'. GKMC all over again

Yall need to stop acting like yall don't see that. They can't take over the game again, their hold on the game is long gone. They will sell, but they ain't got it in them to drop hot songs every week....$TFU with that 'quality tales time' sh1t too, because they don't rap at all and should have thousands of hot songs recorded. Nobody is blind

Cole been treading water for years. Hell his best project is still Friday Night Lights. He's had a decade to top that and hasnt even got close.
