he is not into all the rankings an all that, he has a way he does things and will continue to do it that way regardless what anyone says or thinks... i was worried that he wasnt gonna be able to recruit with the big boys when he first came over to UW but that fear is long past now... only thing he really needs to do is start securing the top talent in WA, he gets most of it but not all of it and if he really wants to win a title hes gotta keep em local... thats how UW football wins
Exactly. That's why I think OU can be a CFP Contender this year. With the best QB in College Football, and arguably the best line in College Football. Sky's the limit. Defense can't get worse either.
What's the main problem with y'all defense? Stoops?
Lack of star prospects on the Defensive Line. Which Riley said he's prioritizing hardcore right now. LB recruiting has been solid, secondary recruiting has been solid. Defensive line recruiting though................::meloohno:
How'd y'all let Eason slip out of Washington
Eason didnt want to compete with Browning and he wasnt going to beat him for the starting job... Eason wanted to play right away and thats his right to have that choice... he earned it in HS... i just feel hes slightly overrated just like Max Browne was coming out of WA... and UW has 2 quality young guns behind Browning in Sirmon and Yankoff... what i like about Yankoff is he came to UW after Sirmon and Yankoff is a highly rated 4* QB himself who could have gone to other places and had a better chance to get PT but he aint scared of competition and thats exactly the type of QBs i want at UW
Let me get your thoughts on USC. Do you think they're as good as people are making them out to be? All I hear is Sam Darnold. Do you think they'll wipe the floor with my Longhorns like thinks?
i consider Darnold to be a damn good QB and it appears that team is finally using their talent in the right way... there is plenty of talent on that squad and there is no denying it... i see UW playing USC for the PAC title and i really dont see how it can be any other way unless injuries happen at key positions to either team... i think the USC vs Texas game will be very close and it will come down to defense, Texas has to find a way to stop USCs passing game and Texas needs to establish their offense on the ground... 2 teams with a lot to prove that early in the year, gonna be exciting
That's the main reason I think it won't be close. Texas has a ton of problems on the back end.

I think Herman will realize this might be the most challenging game of the year other than OU. He has to come up with a game plan that can take minutes off the clock and keep our defense and Darnold off the field
iam not sure what will really go down with OU this season... they got talent but i need to see how they play on the field after losing Stoops

I think Texas beats OU this year. Herman beat Stoops/Riley last year with inferior talent. Plus our guys are in much better shape due to Yancy McKnight our strength & conditioning coach
yeah i think OU struggles this year, they need to figure their sh*t out ASAP or it could be a bumpy road
how you think the ducks do this year under their new HC?
They put a lot of faith in a guy that's never been a HC before. Not doubting him, just saying
There was no fuss, no drawn out coaching search, just a simple promotion. Riley, who had his wife and young daughter with him at the press conference, hasn’t even agreed to a hefty new salary yet. He already was the highest paid assistant coach in the Big 12 after agreeing to a $1.3 million annual deal last month.
“This came together so quickly, but I feel prepared,” Riley said at his first press conference as head coach.
Here’s why OU’s move to Riley isn’t that surprising. Hiring young and promoting from within is in the DNA. After all, the Sooners’ two best head coaches in their history were in their 30s and already in Norman when tapped to lead Oklahoma.
Bud Wilkinson was 31 and two years removed from serving in the U.S. Navy when he was promoted to replace Jim Tatum in 1947. Wilkinson’s Sooners earned three national titles and reeled off a national record 47-straight wins from 1953-57.
Then there’s Barry Switzer, who was 35 when OU turned to him to replace Chuck Fairbanks in 1973. Switzer, who had perfected the wishbone when he was an offensive coordinator, also won three national titles.
Now it’ll be Riley charged with keeping the Sooners, who won last year’s Sugar Bowl and earned a spot in the 2015 national semifinals, as the alpha dog in the Big 12.
There you go............that's why we're not worried.
Fair enough, I just want this new coaching rivalry to be like it did before Mack lost his touch. The 08 game against y'all was a great game
I'm good with Texsa sucking forever. No offense.
all kinds of hype but by the middle of the season they will have suffered a loss they shouldnt have and things will even back out... i personally wouldnt mind if they fall flat on their face but i think they will come out on fire and then settle in to who they really are and u will start to see changes cause they will be focused on the following season... i think they got a solid HC and plenty of talent plus the NIKE connect always seems to keep them in the recruiting game... prolly couldnt be a worse time for UW to get good and for Oregon to have to start over with a new coach as far as the Ducks are concerned cause now UW is pulling their in state studs and Oregon isnt pulling any from WA... Taggart needs to be focused on building oregon to look for success by his 3rd season there, if he can get them pointed in the right direction then he can have success there sooner than later
