Other countries do similar things like this, it helps stop spread of disease and at least ensures the mfs are doing something as safe as possible even if it’s to their own detriment , they aren’t selling crack to children

Safety/Harm reduction model. Not good for long term mobility/stablization for those who suffer from drug/mental health struggles. Tbh a lot these ppl need to be hospitalized and under medication. Suffering from ptsd I used to be skeptical of medication/hospitalization, but working front-line in mental health field made me understand the need for aforementioned resources. Also if you receive social security for mental health those individuals should be mandated to be medi compliant, and enrolled in mental health services to remain eligible for benefits. Hospitalization/Medicine works.
