You lost $100. Look at it like this. You start out with $800, you buy the cow for that amount so you now have $0. You flip the cow for $1900 netting a profit of $1100. But then you went and bought the same cow for your $1100 profit bringing you back to $0. You then sold the same cow for $700, but you started out with $800.

Wrong.

He ends up with 1500 total. Minus his initial investment of 800. He made 700.

See below.

/thread
Yall donít know what the definition of PROFIT is.. Itís the money earned AFTER expenses. Your BALANCE may be $1900 after your first sale of the cow, but your profit was $1100 because your EXPENSES were $800.

True, so by that definition he made 700 dollars.

His profit was 1100 from the first sell. Made another investment of 1100 which brings him to 0, then sold it again for +700.

You said "he lost 100 dollars" which is completely wrong.
But he starts out with $800 how is ending up with $700 earning anything. Thatís not profit. Thatís the remaining balance which is $100 LESS than what he started with.

You're broke as fu#k, please stop the nonsense.

My valet tips are more than your grocery store trips.

Add to that - I haven't been to the grocery store in 7 years.

You can't do some math on some simple tr@nsactions and you want to talk about a "money marathon"?

I put the sh1t in CHATGPT. Some of ya'll will still want to argue tho

User
i bought a cow for $800 dollars. I sold it for $1900. i bought it again for $1900. I sold it again for $700. how much did i earn?

ChatGPT

Let's break down the tr@nsactions:

Bought a cow for $800.
Sold the cow for $1900.
Bought the cow again for $1900.
Sold the cow again for $700.

Now, let's calculate the overall profit or loss:

Revenue from the first sale: $1900
Cost of the cow for the first sale: $800
Profit from the first sale: $1900 - $800 = $1100

Now, you bought the cow again for $1900, and then you sold it for $700.

Total investment in buying the cow again: $1900
Revenue from the second sale: $700
Loss from the second sale: $1900 - $700 = $1200 (negative because it's a loss)

Now, let's calculate the overall earnings:

Profit from the first sale - Loss from the second sale:
$1100 - $1200 = -$100

So, overall, you had a loss of $100 in these tr@nsactions.

No. It's simple math, and simple math is the basis of business.

There were two business dealings with 2 tr@nsactions each.

First he invested $800, then was paid $1900.

He profited $1100.

Secondly, he invested $1100, then was paid $700

His loss was $400.

That's all that happened.

But the first investment was his startup so it put him in the negative. The second investment was profit so it left him in the positive.

He's left with his initial startup for the first purchase which puts him at $0 and the remainder of the profit of the initial sale which leaves him at $700 profit.

Any other answer is wrong.

In business, he only had his profits to work with before his second investment.

That initial 800 is gone... to bills, to pay back investors, to life in general.

He lost 400 on his second investment. If people helped him invest that, he would have to pay them back out of pocket.

His profits were reinvested and then lost.

In business, the ROI it's not considered profit. Yall looking at this sh1t like the weed man instead of the franchisee

Why you felt the need to talk about percentage only makes sense if you have no clue wtf you're talking about.
ROI is a metric typically referred to in %.

Little poor n1gga - I know you just watching YouTube videos

You just another piece of filth in this culture lying and talking with confidence while you're completely wrong about what you speak.

Like I said - tell us all the ROI % in the original OP - or tell a story about how ROI is seen in OP situation.

You not a real business man so you won't be able to do this.

Yes he ended up with $ 700, but you're not including he invested 800 of his own money initially which would make him -100. So the 1st 800 was his loss from the get go.
