Let this be a lesson, no matter how many times they smile at you, how many hands you shake, you will always be seen as lessor than, the help, and in most cases just another n!&&@....

I get what he is saying. That's why I get mad at how welcoming people were to Miley Cyrus in hip hop and rnb.

I didnít think of it this way. I guess I can see their point now then.. never did I think black people could be culture vultures.. but here we are. And I liked Miley as a person from what I could see. But it felt like she and other white people came in to hip-hop just to play in our faces and then left. Like slumming it in the hood and then going back to Beverly Hills.

Country is on a weird run right now where itís really about to be the most popular genre of music. I guess what dude was saying, of course people are coming over to steal some of the shine.
I mean...Black people aren't when it comes to country because we created it...just like we did rock, punk rock, electronic, hip hop and others....but ....most people don't know that....and Beyonce wasn't thinking about country until it started poppin. So I feel him.

Country music is not a genre created by white people. So they canít have that tact with black people.

In what world is country popping? I keep seeing this on bx but I dont see it in real life. Is there a forthcoming country wave coming that Im missing?

Yea. Technically black people did. But is it fair to say that they left country a long time ago? Even if not.

He has a point. Dipping your toes in a genre just because itís popping now is lame. But hey.. Iíd do a lot of things for the bag. So I canít talk.

Doesn't matter who created it or inspired it if you abandoned it

This guy has a right to his opinion and makes good points

Beyonce also has a right as an artist to record whatever she wants and honestly, she's from Houston and probably listened to country growing up. Plenty of black people listen to country here

It is what it is

But please stop with the "who created" narrative like you still support it now

Bro, anecdotal data doesn't matter. Your little corner of the world does not encompa$s what millions of other Americans experience. Country 's numbers are popping all across the industry. Labels are only signing country artists. Their crowd finally discovered streaming. Just because pookie around the corner from you isn't playing country loud in his 2007 rimmed up honda civic, doesn't mean country isn't popping.
