This is nothing new, lol... most people already knew this is what most of them n1ggas was bragging about with the "no pen/no written" sh1t since the days of Jay and Big anyway....

Thing is, 98% of em that is doing it now, are trash and wouldn't be much better if they was writing em...

These drugged out autistics don't have the brain to sit and write. Plus theyre followers, and it's not "cool" to write anymore. It's one of the reasons why mainstream hip hop is trash . Because some of your favorite rappers done watered down the game to the point that ANYBODY can do it

I knew about the punch-in method back around 2000 or so when I was in the studio but it was done more so to make your verses sound clean. For example, in between lines, there might be certain words that are difficult to say right behind each other cleanly. So you’d punch the bars in separately. At least with us, no one was using this method to make it sound like they were freestyling.

I'm sure it's a lot faster.

My process has always been write when inspired, stop when the inspiration leaves and continue when it comes back. Recite out loud, change words around as necessary, repeat.

By the time I get in front of the mic, I have it memorized. From there, I stylize how I recite bars as necessary and voila.

This can take as little as 30 minutes or it can take as long as has to.

Punching in for corrections makes sense, but I couldnt imagine writing in such a stop and go fashion. (Although I can see how having a dedicated engineer to record you would help.)

This method has been used far before Wayne started doing it. As soon as major studios stopped using adat and went more digital with pro tools this has been used.

I always thought that Lil Wayne, Kanye and T-Pain ruined hip hop. Not because they were trash but because the generation immediately after them was poorly imitating them.

Just feels like the rhymes more clever when n1ggas pick up the pen. This get high mumble to the beat sh1t got mainstream music sounding the same. I think once the mentality of I’m a hustler that just happens to rap took off mainstream music fell off the cliff.

That punching in sh1t don't work for me. Just doesn't flow. Voice comes in a different levels and inflections. Starts to sound choppy. I give props to those that can pull it off.

Biggie then jigga. Ok, no way for the general public to tell but they craft prove themselves. Plus its harder process to write a song, but once its locked in, u never have to memorize it cuz u put in that work in the front end

When dwayne picked it up, it became a fad

Dudes that REALLY should be writing things down be the next in line to brag they dont write. As if thats a good look for ur ret@rded ass...

Anyways, when rappers started to read off of they blackberry wit a side scoll the text messages they 5 ghostwriters be sending them, knew it was over
