They only switched the ball when it was judges turn to bat if you watched the games you’ll see it happen even the commentators talked about it as it happened
That was to make sure they knew the ball for memorabilia purposes and this study could of easily tracked who hit each ball that they studied by replay, if all those balls came off judges bat it would definitely be in the article, but since it isn't its obvious that's not the case
