Drake last few albums were weak to me but when I really take a step back and look at it, he’s one of the most talented, most solid and well rounded guys hip hops ever seen.
As for writing, dude has penned hits for goats and is known inside the industry as one of the hardest hiphop & r&b writers. He gave hits to Beyoncé, Kanye, Alicia, Wayne and others. The people with the budgets to go to drake, go to drake. He’s maintained his spot at the very top of the food chain for longer than damn near anyone else. He’s kept the same team eating around him - 40, chubbs and the rest of the ovo ngas. Made all them fools millionaires. No major defections from the squad. No former best friends calling him out for cheating them or leaving them behind. Not a single big name artist I can think of can say they held it down for their day ones since day one. Ngas grow, discard old ngas and get new ones. Instead Drake picked a team he could grow with. He’s maintained loyalty to the people who put him on even tho he’s become much bigger and more influential than all of them - Wayne, Baby, the Prince family. And for a soft Canadian actor, he’s stood his own against Meek, Common, Pusha and been trading back and forth subs with Jay and Kendrick for years. His beef resume is solid. Weird as it sounds bro may go down as the most solid big name hiphop artist of all time. |

My son was telling me yesterday they did a break down of % and 21 was used sparingly in comparison to features and drake. I thought that was smart. The project seems like drake's vision. Makes sense that he would have some stuff written for boy already. Some type of direction and sh*t

He basically said nga ur clowning me about ghost writing but I was just w/ you guys writing for your BOSS. That whole sh*t stings because push is an elite lyricist but A. Kanye is overlooking him and going to drake to write hits for him. B. Why did a former fan & child actor from Canada bypass him to the point where Push is the employee and Drake/ Kanye the bosses Duppy hit Push where it needed to but the critical mistake was mentioning that man’s lady at the end for no reason, which changes the rules of engagement. I guess he was trying to make ppl think he knew something or smashed. Goofy move. It was miscalculated and backfired badly. Last edited by shooter; 11-27-2022 at 03:56 PM..

Push clearly won and had drake waving the white flag but he didn’t win on bars. He won with information and strategy.

In my opinion, he lost the battle to push because his kid & adidas deal was outed via Kanye backdooring him. As far as bars, he stood his own. As far as being solid, dude has the same team around him for a decade+ and I don’t know of any ovo, mob ties, young money or cash money people saying he did them dirty in that timeframe. I also can’t think of another artist at that level that has that type of track record for being solid. Most had to snake a few people/ deals to maintain their position.
