Details ....how did you find out??? Symptoms ????? What did health professionals do for you???? What did you do for yourself in terms of self preservation???

Glad you much better and doing well but we need education and what to look for good sir
I started to turn yellow and was exhausted while out with my Mom. She noticed and suggested I visit urgent care, who sent me to ER immediately. I remember practically nothing after leaving urgent care and telling my dad to get me to the hospital. Week and a half later I’m still in the hospital, and I remember more from then. I was scheduled to fly out to NorCal the next morning, if I had gotten on that flight and not gone to the hospital, I die that week for sure.

I had dealt with mental health issues, and the medicine they gave me didn’t work (while also damaging my body), so I turned to alcohol to stop the suffering. That further damaged my body. I had also partied hard in my 20’s (I was 29).

I haven’t had a drop of alcohol since May 10, 2018 and I only smoke weed when work permits. I found the right medicine for my mental health condition that doesn’t do further harm. I exercise, I surround myself with good people who care about me. I was in the streets heavy in the years leading up to all this, and all them dudes did not care about my well being. Having the right people around you is so important.

No one who knew me in 2017 would have recognized anything about me by 2019.

Was he a heavy drinker?
I don't know how I made it out of my 20' then especially my later 30's with a functioning liver and rest of my organs, let alone healthy.
Thirty fu*kin three, drinker or not in that kind of shape

fu*k football for a minute.

We're in a crisis as a community, and we need to acknowledge great fathers and great families.

Wishing the best for this brothers wife and children. It looks like he built a loving black family, and that's bigger than football.

Hope the doctors can save his life. 33 is too young.
If they could save his life he wouldn't be on hospice care.

Unfortunately hospice care means you are terminal and all they can do is take you out of the hospital setting and try and make you comfortable until you pass.

If there was anything more they could do, he wouldnt be in hospice.

Bro, please let the board know how you discovered something was wrong. It may help some of the rest of us.

Edit: read the thread
Regular check ups are important as well. Liver function test, creatinine levels for your kidneys. Don’t abuse alcohol or drugs heavily, and combining both compounds things.

For example, by the second week my liver bilirubin levels were still a 19, down from 21. Not .19 or .21, but 19 21. I think I’m like a .3 now. Took years to recover.

I used to be ignorant to what hospice meant until my pops passed away in 2019. Before I always thought that was an extension of hospital care. Didnít hit me until they told me that my pops was battling lung cancer and dementia that I semi came to grips with the sh*t. Now when I hear about folks going into hospice that sh*t saddens me. Buddy being in hospice at 33 is beyond sad. That young and...man that sh*t is sad.

The money came later. In 4 years I literally went from the bullsh*t to a business degree and starting a career at a fortune 500 this coming summer.

You can really change ur life if u take command of it and really want it. Gotta take care of the mind and body tho.

How did you go on about that bro? I have kidney failure and their function is only at 20% right now and going down. Doctors say I might be in dialysis within a year. I eat better and lost weight but they say I will need a transplant eventually...
