speaking of rent and credit. how about not dinging my score because of credit checks that don't involve getting credit...such as renting an apartment.

That means people with bad credit scores now, will have even worse credit scores going forward

CHECKING YOUR CREDIT SCORE SHOULDNT LOWER YOUR CREDIT!

Ethnicity should not be asked on any credit application!

...no, they shouldn't. that's prejudicial to lower socio-economic people of all groups. And seeing as how poverty can be a generational affliction, you're effectively condemning more people to social immobility.

But that's probably the point.

I own a few apartment buildings. I use cozy.co to collect rent and it builds my tenants credit score. I had 2 out of college kids that no one was giving them a shot and rented them the place. Its helped the out tremendously with the boost in the credit score I gave them solely off of paying their rent.

I may hate Kamala but here she has a point.

The whole credit system is horrible because you can’t get credit without debt.

EDIT (and sorry to any of the 7 peeps who already gave me props that don’t agree with this): I originally said this was a stupid idea; but after thinking about this a bit more, I think this may be a good idea because with Kamala’s way, you won’t need to accumulate debt in order to establish credit.

She has a point I know n*ggas that fu*k their credit up just to pay rent. I know people that can't pay anything but their rent. But they always pay it and pay it on time so they should get credit for that sh*t.

fu*k that just get rid of dinging people’s sh*t for inquiries.

More pandering on the part of this bi*ch.

Whole idea of credit is to see if a person honors their commitments. Of course people who fu*k off on credit cards pay their rent, cell and utilities.

I think the logic behind this is its something you are continously paying and it would help show people later on down the line you are responsible.
It's a flawed thought process. If you loan some one $5,000 and they pay back $800, you're screwed out of $4,200. If you provided some one with utilities and they've paid April, May & June, but miss July's...you shut off their services and you've lost nothing.

Credit vs Service. Services paid for don't belong on a credit report/score. It's not credit.

Kamala is the police.. radical dems are anti-police. This issue will bite her eventually. especially if the radicals end up needing to get her out of the way of Bernie or warren for the nom

thats a good point. but if the way the scores are measured changes and these essentially monthly subscriptions gain weight on your credit score. it kinda gives people incentive to get these things when before they might not needed to.

but anyway i feel like its always the start. so more monthly subscriptions would probably be tacked on later. like internet. and between some of these things like utilities. you dont even really have a choice of company. its almost like giving these monopoly companies more pull.
I see your points too, but also feel like people are sometimes doing the same now in the current system by getting credit cards, for example, which can be a slippery slope if you get a credit limit that is too high.

Internet and cell phones are almost basic, mandatory utilities now so why not use them as a way to build credit is my question. Younger people also don’t typically have the financial flexibility to purchase a home right away so having their eventual lease/rent help them establish credit seems reasonable.

This is definitely an interesting idea that I think we should further explore.

It's happening!! @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @
firstly on the topic of credit scores... the whole concept is a house of cards waiting to fall. Credit scores are the illusionary devices that control people's general quality of life. sure you can live without one and operate off cash solely but you get punished for it because the material world hasn't been designed by people who don't believe in credit scores.... it's very comparable to the online world.... the reason the sh*t doesn't appeal as much to outdoorsy types and real-world pioneers is because the online world was designed by recluses and folks who are typically introverted and very closed off or resentful even... well the credit system was built from greed and a desire for power... no one involved in it ascends to the level of that which controls it but getting your slice of greed and power is what keeps you hypnotized by it.

on the topic of social media being the future of credit

the second thing maybe even the first thing employers do after reviewing your resume is browse through your social media.... i know this from first hand recruiting experience. Everything that happened in "Nosedive" is already present minus the augmented reality which imo isn't ready for prime time because it would cause a huge division between people and that's not how these things work... they need the masses completely onboard to push to the next phase. AI a*sistants like Alexa, and Google a*sistant are the bridge to ushering in AI control over everything. They have to build trust between you and the robots to break it to you that the robot is going to be taking your job in 2030.
