I listen to the retail version from beginning to end 3 times already. Now the sh*t is on random. I don't care what plays from the album it's straight fiyah. I honestly didn't expect to like this album because of the way the last one went. The only track I am having problems with is the Track with lil Wayne. Dude just sounds horrible. I'm not saying I dislike Lil Wayne. i just don't like him on that song. He sounds out of place. Maybe it will grow on me though.

I think folks that don't like this album is just not a fan of Jay Z (as a person)and not necessarily his music. They probably didn't listen to the music objectively. Hell I'm guilty of this too. I use to dislike certain artist so much that I would actually seek out all the negatives about a certain album. But I guess as you getter older and being a true fan of music you learn to take things for what thaey are.

This is a great ..not good.. but great album. He managed to embody the whole Frank Lucas Story while coming up with some of the rawest metaphors and anologies. The fact that he created this album within such a short period of time is genious within itself.

All of the folks that hate this album is going to be really irritated for a while because i hear at least 4 singles and an excessive amount of spins at your locals clubs for months.

4.5/5 only because of the Hello Brooklyn track

I'm an R&B head but decided to download and give it a try, I ain't no d*ckrider or hater. Played the album all the way through, verdict: classic! I agree that that Hello Brooklyn track seems out of place with the rest of the material, but the rest sounds like the Jigga of yesteryear. Kingdom Come was obviously an album where you could tell Jigga had kinda ran out of things to rap about. Thank god for the American Gangster film, coz it seems to have inspired Jigga and brought out the best in him.

Album highlights are:
America Dreamin'
Roc Boys
Success
Fallin'
American Gangster

I like tittle track American Gangster. It's got the old 70's soul sound. I swear I can hear curtis mayfield in it.

Jay Is The GOAT...American Gangster is a Classic! The Lil Wayne song is the only one I dislike....He shouldve had Ghostface on the album...maybe on success
