it used to be rappers put out a mediocre album with 1-2 good songs and fans went out and spent there hard earned money on it that's why sales used to be better before downloading

now fans have the chance to listen to the album then make an informed decision if they gonna spend there money on it or not and the reality is if they like ya album enough and they respect you as an artist they'll goto the stores and buy the record

all these rappers need to stop crying about how downloading ruined the game downloading just making it harder for garbage to be bought because they have one hot single on the radio and 9 tracks of filler and 2 other good tracks on the album

i think we've seen that you can still sell records even with downloading as long as you put out quality records. like you said that 1-2 good tracks on an album is not gonna fly, the fans know whats up. they need to find a way to use this technology to there advantage (it seems like there slowly getting there) because if you dont keep up with technology it'll leave your a.ss behind.

Now i must say that the music now a days that hit the main stream is lacking but even with all that u cant blame the new artist who come out....

IM jus tired of n*ggas blamin artist

the thing that really destroyed hip-hop and the music industry period is......

all of the downloading sites.....now think

the n*gga lil wayne sold 3 million copys of the C3....now imagine if boxden didnr have the jukebox....or lime wire and all these file sharing sites didnt eva happen

the music industry would still be more lucrative than ANy busy in the world but the internet f**ked up everything....so u cant blame some of these artist for not sellinf millions anymore.....to much leakin of shyt

and last the music is gettin garbage even RnB is startin to sound all alike

Now that real

:disdain2: The South has been WAY more detrimental to hip hop than the internet... Think about it, Napster came around late 99/early 2000 right? - since then we've had several classic albums drop (MMLP, BP, Stillmatic, Black Album, the Fix, etc..), most of which sold well dispite people being able to download them for free Hip Hop was good and well until about 2005-2006 when it was officially proclaimed dead, which is coincidentally around the time that the south's shuckin' & jivin' style of umm..."hip hop"..() became the only sound to be promoted and played on the radio

Thanks alot, South! :disdain2:

If hip-hop is truly dead why are u on a HIP-HOP forum talking about it??? Thought this rumor was k!lled years ago. Things change but hip hop is bigger than ever. Its just not gettin r*ped as much, n*ggaz smartened up and realized they can make more money independent. Hip-hop = business. Hip hop aint dead ask Gatorade, G.

and yet ignorance like this has surely contributed

only a small minded idiot would see Hip Hop as regional and not as a whole
